Clark is a scrappy football player both as a guard on offense and an end on defense. He has good size for both positions but could use some more overall strength. This guy is a real fighter, just when you think he has not been able to sustain the block he finds some way to recover. Looks a little awkward at times but finds a way to get the job done. Sometimes plays too high but other times, especially in short yardage situations and in the red zone, honkers downs and comes off with a flat back and gets underneath the defensive lineman's pads. Shows mobility when pulling but doesn't use the best technique getting out of his stance. Does, however show the ability to kickout the defensive end or turn upfield for the linebacker. Gives exceptional effort getting downfield for an extra block. A sound pass protector but needs to work on getting stronger in order to handle big defensive linemen. On defense is a very active end that comes off the ball quickly and takes good angles down the line of scrimmage. Uses hands well to ward off offensive blockers; separates and disengages. Takes proper pursuit angles downfield; quicker than fast. Clark can develop into a very good offensive guard; he has athleticism and a great motor. Simply needs to keep working on upper and lower body in order to get stronger.

DE Derrick Lott (6-5 270) of Kennesaw, GA attended USC's camp last Friday, his second camp of the summer in Columbia. "It was nice, I loved it, we had fun," Lott said. "I did one on ones the whole day. I talked to coach Lawing and coach Beamer. South Carolina is my leader. I've been to camps and stuff and they are showing me the most love." Lott also has offers from Louisville, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Central Florida and Ole MIss. He's also getting interest from Florida State and Georgia. Lott camped at Georgia and has visited Louisville and Tennessee. He plans to take his official visits before deciding and three will be USC, Oklahoma State and Louisville. Last season Lott had 70 tackles with 10 for loss and five sacks playing defensive tackle.

North Cobb's Lott in no hurry to pick college | College recruiting | ajc.com

North Cobb may have had a disappointing ending last season with a loss in the first round of the playoffs, but that hasn’t stopped college recruiters from flocking to the school.
Twelve players signed college scholarships last season, and three more Division I prospects are on the roster this year. Michael Emerson and Rico Mack are battling for the quarterback position, but both are being recruited as receivers. But the big catch at North Cobb is defensive end Derrick Lott.
“He’s a freak,” said North Cobb coach Shane Queen. “He is the total package.”
The 6-foot-4, 265 pounder has sub-4.8 speed in the 40 and already has offers from South Carolina, Southern Cal, Oklahoma State, Louisville and Ole Miss. He will take official visits to South Carolina and Oklahoma State, but is undecided on his other visits. Don’t expect an early commitment.
“I am going to let the process play out,” Lott said. “I will plan out my other visits, but I just want to play well my senior season and get more colleges to offer me so I have plenty of choices.”
