By Allen Wallace...Iowa State and California are the latest to offer. Favor Minnesota slightly over the likes of Wisconsin, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech and Oklahoma (all offered).

His father, whom he just reconnected with in recent years, lives in Milwaukee and Keanon has stated it would be nice for his dad to be able to see his games. This, though, is likely to not be the only factor in his decision, and without a doubt his father is telling him to go where it is best for him.
Hope it's Madison.

From the Alabama site...recap of Keanon's and Spencer Reeves' visit to Alabama. They were "blown away" as the title of the article states.

You can see Keanon Cooper from 1:30 til it's conclusion in this Skyline High School Football Prospect Video:
SO QUICK!
Cooper said the Badgers were the favorites to score his services earlier in the prospect. Would be a great addition as a strong safety or OLB.
Spencer Reeves, another Wisconsin prospect, is featured at the beginning.

Tentative top 6 are: Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Georgia Tech. Wants to see how schools fare during the season. Doesn't have a decision date set but appears like it will be after the college season.
I wonder if there was any negative recruiting here towards Wisconsin considering his comments. Wisconsin had a great season in '07, but (paraphrasing) "we'll see how they do when they meet Michigan and Ohio state actually....unlike last year". Let's get him here for a visit to see the Iowa game under the lights at the camp, because college football in Wisconsin in fall is a thing of beauty. Either that or schedule him for the Michigan game and he can confirm that we're legit in person when we kick their butts.

Cooper will take his first official visit to Minnesota for the Ohio State game. He is now unsure of where he stands with Michigan because he sees them as "rebuilding", and says that their struggles concern him. Wisconsin holds a slight lead over Minnesota, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Michigan, and Oklahoma.

You've got to love that Cooper follows the progress of each program carefully. He's doing his homework supposedly buying numerous books on colleges and rankings. I think those factors certainly benefit us. The rankings love Wisconsin pretty much accross the board. And this expected to be one of the best seasons. If he were to judge one game by game, I'd prefer 2007. The games are doubly important now. We control our own destiny with this prospect it seems. No more letdowns like against UNLV boys. The prospects are watching.
And Heavy, I guess I was wrong about Michigan's performances having such an adverse effect on their recruiting, at least with this young man.

I just think that there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Michigan. Will Carr be back? I think the question should read more like "When will Carr be fired?" I think it would be hard to give a commitment when you envision a whole new coaching staff next year. I am not so sure that Michigan is tarnished as much as a coaching change is inevitable, which does affect recruits. Hopefully this continues to play out in favor of us

"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."
