You have to wonder if our period of lost contact ended up hurting us in the end. All in all a very weird recruitment, with new favorites popping out of nowhere every month. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up somewhere not listed above.

You aren't kidding heavy. Keanon Cooper's recruitment progressed very strangely. Supposedly many of the teams he claimed offers from weren't genuinely that interested....including Wisconsin. Which is odd because he looks explosive in his highlights and his numbers were off the charts in talent rich Texas. However, even some affiliated with his high school asserted he didn't have the instincts to play the safety position so he was essentially an undersized linebacker. That would explain the reticence in giving him a full scholarship offer.

Cooper redshirted and was converted to linebacker, where he is grossly undersized (206), but is making a strong bid for playing time, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
