High school football: Eastmoor, others teeter on brink of playoffs

Quote:
Eastmoor Academy could be this year's hard-luck story. The Warriors (8-1) have outscored their opponents 395-73 and have a Mr. Football candidate in senior running back Isaiah Pead (1,934 yards, 36 touchdowns). Their opponents, however, are a combined 28-53. They've defeated only one team (6-3 Walnut Ridge) with a winning record.
Also states that if one of two teams were to win last weekend, Pead and Eastmoor would be done playing football.

I believe that Eastmoor did not advance to the playoffs.

I think this also shows that Pead's competition might not be as good as other UW prospects. Even with that said, open watching his highlights his skills are undeniable.

Just a feeling, but I think he will end up at Louisville or Pitt.

Pead is indecisive right now and believes it may take until signing day for his recruitment to come to a conclusion. He's most recently been in touch with: Ohio State (no offer), Maryland, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and West Virginia. Isaiah broke the yardage and TD record at the same school which produced Archie Griffin.

Heavy, I predict West Virginia or Cincinnati. I've heard that he's intrigued by Cincy's meteoric rise as a program and West Virginia would appear to have an ideal offensive for his explosiveness. Kid is dynamite if you give him space. However, I'm not making the assumption that the Badgers are a non factor. They're still interested in Ingram, and I'd rank Pead in his stratosphere.

My Dream

By Allen Wallace from SuperPrep

Quote:
Pead says the Buckeyes (Not Offered) lead solidly over West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Maryland and Pittsburgh. The Illini also have not offered.
Quote:
He reports a 2.4 core GPA and a 16 ACT, which he is retaking on Dec. 8.
Looks like grades are the only thing holding him back in many cases.

Looks like UW is completely out of the picture. I wouldn't be surprised if he would end up in Champaigne if he got an offer, but I think he needs to up his ACT quite a bit to get in there.

I don't think it's sour grapes to speculate if interest actually waned on our part, because of his further declining grades. Last time we checked on Isaiah, his grades were shaky already, with a borderline GPA of 2.6. Now he's down to 2.4 and a 16 ACT.

From Pead's perspective, he purportedly loved his visit to Madison. For his interest to be completely erased in a couple months, that would be peculiar. Unless his memory is like Guy Pearce's in Memento.

It's too bad because he would have been a heck of a playmaker at UW.

If only we didn't have academic minimums... oh wait, that is the CUSA, and apparently now, the Big East.

Yeah, thank God for Rich Rodriguez's and West Virginia's lack of any academic or character standards whatsoever, otherwise nobody else would have been kind enough to give us an opportunity to play D1 football period.

Signed,

Pat Lazear, Noel Devine, Chris Henry, et al

Also, thank God for people actually thinking that half a mid major conference two years ago, plus half the bottom of the worst major conference in football, equals a legitimate major conference. If not for their gullibility, we wouldn't even be considered remotely close to national championship caliber this year.

Signed,

West Virginia

Pead carried the ball 30 times last year for 194 yards. This season he projects as the backup RB to John Goebel.

I saw him play last season and it's ridiculous he's not their starter. The only reason he's behind other running backs on the depth is his lack of seniority. He added a whole other dimension to the Bearcats' offense. I'm still somewhat lamenting the fact that he couldn't qualify for Madison, but it's not like we're in bad shape at the position. Much rather have him than Erik Smith though.
