LJWorld.com / Ryan Wood's KU Football notebook
Quote:
Brown eliminates Kansas
Though it’s been assumed for a while that Wichita East linebacker Arthur Brown wasn’t going to pick Kansas, the top prep prospect confirmed that in an interview on ESPNU last week.
Brown has narrowed his list to 16 schools, with KU missing the cut. They are: Kansas State, Southern Cal, Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma, Nebraska, California, Louisville, Rutgers, Auburn, North Carolina, Miami (Fla.), Georgia, Georgia Tech, UCLA and LSU.
Brown is rated by Rivals.com as the best prospect in Kansas and the 16th best prospect in the country. He’ll narrow his list down to 10 next week.

Kansas.com | 09/15/2007 | Brown, Wichita East blank Wichita West

Four touchdowns on five plays.
That's all East needed in the first quarter to quickly put away West.
Led by Bryce Brown's 312 rushing yards and five touchdowns and a defense that forced nine turnovers, the 10th-ranked Aces defeated the Pioneers 69-0 Friday night at Carpenter Stadium.

Kansas.com | 09/22/2007 | East pops Carroll, takes City League lead
Quote:
BY DUANE FRAZIER
The Wichita Eagle
Friday night's game was barely over when East coach Brian Byers heard those three forbidden words.
"City League championship?" someone asked.
And Byers, the Aces' first-year coach, didn't even flinch.
Nope. After Friday's 13-9 victory over Bishop Carroll, East is squarely planted where it wants to be -- the only unbeaten team in the league.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - From the Road: Carrying the load
Quote:
The Brown brothers - senior linebacker Arthur Brown and junior running back Bryce Brown - seem like they're the most talked about people from the state of Kansas since Dorothy and Toto. And this past Friday night against a very stout Wichita Bishop Carroll team, both showed why they rank among the nation's best prospects.
The Brown's Wichita East team hasn't had a winning season since 1992 and the 13-9 victory over Carroll advanced it to 4-0. The Blue Aces have not won a City League football title since 1983, but East is now the only unbeaten team in the league.
East fans can thank Arthur, who was dominating on both sides of the ball at fullback and linebacker, and Bryce, who racked up 143 yards rushing and scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter.
