Quote:
“Blake was being pursued by several PAC-10 schools and Nebraska recently came in but the Wisconsin staff really blew Blake away. From what Blake told us, Coach Bielema is real no-nonsense type of guy. He doesn’t tell you what you want to hear and Blake loved that.”
Quote:
“C.C.O.S.F. actually has a Wisconsin tie. Coach (Paul) Chryst used to recruit a lot of our kids when he was at Oregon State so we tell our kids that Coach Chryst is a great coach and a great guy to play for and be around. We feel good about sending kids to play for Coach Chryst and now Coach Bielema.”

"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."

According to some reports, Ferras is not an official Badger commitment.

May have been a miscommunication between staff and recruit...which wouldn't be the first time during Bielema's tenure. Remember Montari Leonard and Kevin Holloway anyone? It's possible he had a long standing Badger offer, without contacting the staff he decided to accept, but it had actually evaporated following Moore's and Briedis' decisions.

Confirmed by Chris Pool at BadgerNation that Ferras is not a Badger commit as of now. He does not have an offer in writing.

Confirmation that Ferras' verbal offer was not live. He is not a Badger commit.

Honestly I'm pleased we didn't accept 2 JUCO commits at the same position in the same class. That would have opened a gaping hole in the near future, there, and at other positions when we'd inevitably try to over-compensate in later classes. Finding Moore was shrewd, this would have been reckless. Everything about Ferras didn't add up to either to be scholarship worthy. Apparently Pool said he just pretended to have a Badger offer for leverage with other schools. Crossing my fingers for Parish.
