Two ways to look at this:
1) He's 100% committed. Why would he visit elsewhere?
2) It's a free visit, so why the hell wouldn't he?
I'd say that both situations happen. With Futch here, I highly doubt he goes anywhere but Miami. I do think we're second, though, based upon his past comments.

I can't fathom how a player can be 100 percent committed but seek visits elswhere. He wants the free vacation? He must have heard Madison is the best college town in the country from Scott Van Pelt of ESPN.
From my recollection Wisconsin was one of the teams higher on his list early in the process. His interest may be legit. Miami scored 3 highly rated OLB commits AFTER Futch. That may be fueling his desire to look elsewhere. Wisconsin would have a pretty good situation for Futch. St. Jean recently moved to MLB. Casillas and Levy will be seniors when Futch would be a true frosh. If he's a bonafied talent, which I'm confident in, he would be the favorite to start as a true soph or redshirt frosh. He won't get as sweet of a deal with Miami. I would love for Futch to change his mind, and it's worth the official visit to try IMO.

Most definitely. I'm thrilled he's coming up to visit campus, because if you get a guy into Madison you never know. Your recollection is correct, we were at a point in his top three with Miami and Florida. It helps that he has family ties up here.
I still don't get the feeling he'll falter with the class Miami is having and their lock-down of South Florida thus far, but it can't help the cause that they've had 3 OLB commits as you've said. Like said, he'd likely start as a Soph here. Same goes for Major (and Katoa, if we were/are still in it).

He has family ties to Wisconsin too? Apparently half the nations football recruits for this class do as well. If Blake Ayle's, Jordan Futch's, Keanon Cooper's, Jake Byrne's, Quinn Evan's, and Corbin Brown's families; had not migrated, maybe Lemming wouldn't speak so disparagingly about this year's in state class.
Can you inform me what his family ties to Wisconsin are specifically Mike. I don't recall.

It's in the article that LJB posted, Bern He just says that he has family that lives in Wisconsin in that one, but IIRC from articles earlier in the summer/spring, he said one of his parents is from Milwaukee and that he still has family there. I also remember that we were the first to offer him.
He visits on October 20th with Tarik Rollins, his teammate. "Wow" them both!

High school football: Until a team clinches, take nothing for granted

Senior strong safety Jordan Futch, a South Florida Sun-Sentinel Super 11 selection, was removed from the team at halftime of a 41-3 loss to Pahokee for disciplinary reasons. Lang said he's not expected back this season............

Look on the bright side from the Wisconsin perspective....at least he'll have ample amount of time to ponder if his commitment decision was incorrect. If not, then he'll be tailor made for the Miami program.
