[quote]The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Johnson received an offer from Wisconsin last week, according to River Hill assistant coach Til Campanaro.
"I was real excited," Johnson said of his first offer. "I didn't really belive it at first, but now I know all my hard work paid off. Now I'm just trying to get more.

Has seven offers, including WVA, Minnesota, UW, and Syracuse. Favors Wisconsin for now, but plans on visiting elsewhere to try and earn more offers.

He plans on visiting campus and also said UW wants 2 cbs for 2010

Rivals combine (March 11th) 6'.5" 144 lbs
Scout combine (Date unknown) 5'9.5" 160lbs
40: 4.72
Hard to believe the height discrepancy. His Rivals 40 also shows a 4.49, which I find unlikely. His recruitment is picking up steam though, and he was just offered by Wake after they saw him in person

From ESPN MDVarsity on April 29, 2009....
Quote:

River Hill's Kevin Johnson received his second offer on Saturday. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound defensive back received an offer from West Virginia over the weekend, according to Johnson. Johnson received his first official offer last week when Wisconsin pulled the trigger on the junior.
|
A couple other sites have him at 5'10" and 160 as well, so I am gonna bet his measurables are closer to this than the Rivals combine.

Returned from his Wake visit with an offer. Wake is his "number one school". Will camp at UConn and visit Wisconsin before he decides. Also plans to keep putting on weight

KJ just took a visit to Wisconsin and loved it. Impressed by the ambiance of the campus and city, the academics, and the coaches. Appears to be finished with visits and wants to make his decision soon. It will come down to UW and Wake Forest (no expressed leader). UW commit Frank Tamakloe is a friend and is trying to sway him toward the Badgers.

I just watched his tape and I really want this kid now, he shows great anticipation when jumping routes, and he has great awareness when the ball is in the air. He has a smooth back-peddle and shows some real explosion when closing on the ball. His weight still scares me, he goes down like a brick when he gets hit.

Per Scout, a decision is expected by the weekend. Not that it means anything, but Wake just got a commitment at CB this past weekend.

Regarding his weight, I found this tidbit from ESPNRISE.com:
Quote:
|
"... The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Johnson has put on 30 pounds during the past two seasons..."
|
So that might explain some of the discrepancies... and he's putting on weight.
