JULY 6, 2007. PREP STAR WILLIE MOBLEY, DT, from Eden Prairie, Minnesota has offers from Nebraska, Iowa, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Hawaii, Illinois and UCLA.
I went to UCLA's summer camp and really liked it." said Mobley, "They have great academic support. I like the coaching staff and the area (Los Angeles)."
"UCLA didn't push for a commit." he said, "At the time, I didn't have all my transcripts with me. I'm ready to go know grade wise. UCLA is a little tougher to get in."
"I hear from Crosgrove (Nebraska) a lot." said Mobley, "He text messages me. I plan on making an unofficial visit there some time."
"I like Iowa a lot." he said, "They were one of the first schools to offer me. I've been to Iowa City, it's real nice, not a big place but a nice college campus. I like the academics and coaches at Iowa too."
"Ohio State has a great coaching staff, I like them a lot." he said, "I'm going to visit them soon. I like the academics and history at Ohio State."
Mobley went on to say that next week he is going to visit Wisconsin. Mobley said Hawaii has not said much lately, but they are interested.

I'm excited to hear about how his visit went. He would, IMO, be one of our most important commits if he did in the end do so. Bern's favorite person over at NFLDC seems to think he's an Iowa lean, but rest assured the guy isn't known for being right all the time.

Mike, if I were a top prospect, he'd think I was an Iowa lean. When the reality hypothetically would be that I'd rather throw up my own diarrhea than play for the Herky jerks.
I think he'll be influenced substantially by his buddy Ashley's experience as a top prospect and join him at in state Minnesota. However, OSU can offer him an elite program. Wisconsin can offer him a favorable depth chart at both DT and DE, as well as an up and coming program. I'm not sure how Iowa can compete on this particular prospect, regardless of what he's said.
He would indeed be a very important commit for Bucky because of our aforementioned lack of young promising D-Linemen, as well as his ability.

Jan. 19, 2007: Brewster faces tough recruiting test in state

Mobley told me his top three schools are Wisconsin, Florida and Iowa. Maresh's top two are Wisconsin and Iowa. Both of those players said they are leaning toward those schools because they have had face-to-face contact with coaches from those schools.

Ohio State Scout - 07/15/07
Strange article. Willie discusses his academic difficulties, and his summer school plans. States that he is preparing a "top ten" list of schools, but that Ohio State would be in his top two. He also mentions Garrett Goebel, and that's where the article gets really bizarre. All around, good news for Buckeye fans, I think....
