By Dave Berk...great intro to Spencer, who plays QB for Princeton.
From the Princeton/Hamilton game last weekend...
Community Press - Princeton, Hamilton match to unveil progress
Quote:
SHARONVILLE ? Princeton High School didn't miss a beat Friday night. Spencer Ware, Jeff Duckworth and the Vikings football team did what they do best ? pass.
While attempting to put aside an alleged shooting threat on the school early Friday morning, Princeton airmailed Greater Miami Conference foe Hamilton a 43-19 drubbing at Viking Stadium.
"Our main thing was to just try and stay focused," said Duckworth, a junior receiver. "We kept playing it off as if it was a regular school day, and we played it off as if it was a regular football night."
"It got to the field a little bit, but we played like it didn't affect us," added Ware, Princeton's sophomore quarterback. "We just went out there and did our thing."
Big Blue struggled to figure out the Vikings' aerial attack all night, as Ware connected on 20-of-28 passes for 358 yards, including TD connections to Duckworth from 42, 48 and 33 yards out. Ware tossed a total of five touchdowns, a Princeton school record.
"(Ware) is an outstanding player, he made some big plays," said Hamilton coach Jim Place, whose Big Blue fell to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the GMC. "We just didn't execute. We need to find out how to make big plays and take some of them to the house."

Ohio State, UC among Ware's offers
Posted by TomGroeschen at 9/8/2008 4:59 PM EDT on Cincinnati.com
Princeton junior QB Spencer Ware, one of the area's top offensive football stars, has received college offers from Ohio State, Duke, Cincinnati and Tennessee, according to Ware and Princeton coach Bill Leach.

Ware is 5-11 and 212 pounds, and most big schools are recruiting him as an athlete/RB since he lacks the height of most major college QBs. But, Leach said UC has told Ware he would get a chance at QB.

From the OSU site...comments on his visit to OSU for the PSU game...says he is not as interested in playing QB at the next level because of his height. Would like to play baseball in college as well.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Army Analysis: National Combine standouts (free)
Quote:
ATH Spencer Ware, 5-9/210, Cincinatti Princeton
ASSETS: Plays quarterback but his physique will remind you of T. J. Duckett at the same stage.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: Just needs to find what position best suits him at the next level; I believe it will be as a power RB in college.
WHAT WAS MOST IMPRESSIVE AT COMBINE: He really had very soft hands for a muscular back.
CONCLUSION: Has four offers at this time and is best suited to be an every-down power back at the next level. Look for him to be recruited by teams that still like smash mouth football.

The Princeton football team will have several Division I prospects returning this fall, according to Princeton coach Bill Leach. Obviously, junior QB Spencer Ware (5-11, 215) is one of the area's most high-profile recruits with offers that include Big Ten and Big East schools.
Here are some others to watch for the Vikings. Their current year is listed.
Junior OT Ashton Hood (6-6, 260)
Junior DT Rakeem Chandler (6-4, 215)
Junior DE/TE Kyle Budde (6-6, 205). He started at OT last season
Junior DB Josh West (5-10, 175)
Junior QB/WR Bryan Shelby (5-10, 180)
Sophomore WR Jay McCants (6-5, 185)
