Very encouraging article from a Wisconsin standpoint, he describes his relationship with coach Alexander... "You know how you have a big brother? It's kind of like that," also says he had a great time at his visit back at the PSU game, but says he didnt really get to talk to the coaches much and that's something he would really like to do.

Wow... maybe we have a 40 % now, but really looks like we have a good relationship with him.

Id say we are in his early top 3 along with MSU and UM, even though the package deals rarely come through I would love Gholston and Hankins.

I think that Alexander is really starting to show some signs of life in the recruiting trail.

I really feel we will have a better recruiting class then 09'. I like the potential of the 09' class. Bucky, will have a better year, and I think we will have a better class.

I agree not to mention 2010 will be a much smaller class(probably in the 16-17 range at best)

William Gholston - College Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN

Quote:
Gholston is a physically impressive prospect. He is a tall kid with solid bulk and really stands out on the football field from an appearance standpoint. He possesses the frame to also keep packing on good bulk. While he quickly catches your eye with his appearance he is not too shabby as a player either. He is a versatile kid and plays mainly linebacker at the high school level. Despite how tall he is he plays the position well. He is active with his hands and locates the ball well. As a blitzer he times up well and can quickly accelerate through a seam. While we could see him being allowed to play some from a two-point and used in certain situations like a linebacker, the truly best fit for him is at defensive end. He has an ideal frame and with his reach and athletic ability could be a very good player at the end position in college. Like mentioned he is active with his hands. He will need to adjust to engaging blockers more quickly coming off the ball from a three-point, but he displays the ability to shoot his weapons and separate at linebacker and should have no trouble doing that as an end. He works to keep good pad level when taking on blockers, but can get a little high with his build and coming off the ball from a stance should help him to better manage his pad level and make it tougher for blockers to get into him. He runs well and can chase plays in backside pursuit. Can have a bit of a methodical style to his play, but has a good motor and gets around the football. He is a solid tackler, though he can get a little sloppy at times when he tries to arm tackle. Though at times with his reach he can reel in and make some tough tackles many others could probably not. He could be a handful as a pass rusher and this is where we could see him being allowed to stand-up some and rush from a two-point. As he develops pass rush moves and learns to fully utilize his reach he could be tough to stop. Plus if he gets his hands up he can be a tough target to throw over. Gholston is a versatile and athletic prospect. He could also be looked at as a tight end. Ultimately we feel defensive end is his best fit and while he needs to keep fine tuning his game, he is a very good prospect. A drawback could be a desire to be a two-sport player in college. If he pursues basketball it could hinder development time and make it harder for him to keep on needed bulk. Still worth it either way, but playing two sports could rob him a little of some on-field potential.

I wish he'd go to Michigan, but it's not happening. For some reason or another, the kid appears to be enamored with MSU. He apparently lives with Southeastern's coach, and the coach is a huge MSU fan.

"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."

Scout.com: National Interest in Gholston

By A. Trieu. Gholston says he's up to 15 offers. He was recently offered by LSU, Alabama, Tennessee and Oregon. Says he wants to play linebacker and talks about the position he'd play at Michigan (hybrid DE/OLB). Says he'll wait and see who else offers before narrowing it down.
