Blake Sorensen, Elijah Hodge, and Culmer St. Jean have all been somewhat disappointing during their careers thus far at Wisconsin. Our current starting MLB trio are all 6-2 or taller individually.....and have been very effective this season. Give me the much lankier looking Roderick Goodlow or Conor O'Neill instead.

If Wisconsin has Allen or Borland slated as a MLB.....AJ Klein from in-state would have more than sufficed.

Wes, do you have an inkling of where Muldoon is leaning also?
Bern, have you watch Denicos' highlight video?

The guy is ridiculously fast, and is a very good tackler.. I don't see why he's only a 5.6 3-Star.. I think he should be at the very least a 5.7 and more realistically a 5.8 4-star.. i think it's his size that people are worried about, but this guy easily makes up for that with his speed and great tackling

the stars are usually more based on measurable 1st and production 2nd

Montee Ball may break state records and he is only a high 3*

Fresh, I was more speaking about Allen's projectibility to OLB, thinking his commitment would preclude O'Neill's or Goodlow's.

I thought Borland finished our MLB recruitment but O'Neill reported after he committed the staff told him they were done at "OLB". So maybe that means they've re-evaluated Borland and now are projecting him to strong safety. That would make more sense to me because he has very narrow shoulders and short arms for a linebacker. If Allen can fill the void at MLB I'm all for his commitment. He does have pretty good speed running downhill and is very physical. I don't think he projects well to chase and switch directions on TE's and running backs in coverage, but that wouldn't be his responsibility at MLB.

With that said, I think he selects Michigan State. Reports are surfacing that he's on the verge of making a decision, preceding his visit to Madison. Why would he make up his mind about Wisconsin right before he visited? It's unlikely, although that's how David Gilbert's recruitment played out.

Writing was on the wall......honest to God I didn't see the report before I made the previous prediction he'd pick MSU.

Onto maybe A.J. Klein if we indeed still desire an MLB?

Big Blue standout Allen commits to Michigan St.

Quote:
Hamilton High School senior linebacker Denicos Allen has verbally committed to play football at Michigan State. The 6-foot, 205-pound Allen had also been considering Cincinnati and Illinois before announcing his decision Tuesday morning, Oct. 7.
With a team-high 58.5 tackles, Allen is a big reason why the Big Blue defense is the top-ranked unit in the Greater Miami Conference, allowing just 174.9 yards and 11.1 points per game.
Allen leads the conference with 5.5 sacks, and his two fumble recoveries are tied for second in the league. He also has one forced fumble and one blocked kick.
