Mark enjoyed his trip to Iowa but Michigan State still leads over Iowa, Wisconsin, Alabama and Illinois. He will visit Illinois this weekend and Alabama in January.

From the Alabama site...received an offer from Alabama recently and he had an in-home as well where the coaches talked about how he could come in and make a difference as a freshman. Coach Saban was at MSU when Mark's father was there and he will visit Alabama on 1/11.

I think it will be hard for the Badgers, or anyone, to beat out MSU for his services. MSU has been his consistant leader, his dad went to MSU, and Flint is well know for sending stars there. Alabama and others may make a push, but I don't see him leaving his comfort zone.

I completely agree...it is really going to take something special to sway him from MSU. That is the read I get on this situation as well...

Mark made an appearance at Michigan State's bowl practice, immersing himself in the activities for the day as much as legally possible. He enjoyed the intensity while sitting back and absorbing everything. Obviously really likes MSU, but will still take his visit to Bama.

By A. Wallace.
Quote:
"Iowa is recruiting me the hardest," said running back Mark Ingram. "I get about 15 letters a week from all their coaches. I'd have a good opportunity to play early there because two of their senior running backs are graduating. Coach (Phil) Parker (defensive backs) is recruiting me. I could probably play the earliest at Iowa but Wisconsin said they need a gamebreaker and that I could be..."

Ingram says he is sad to see Hankwitz get fired as a person. But it does not really affect his recruit status and thinks that RB's coach John Settle will take over his recruitment and already has a good relationship established with Settle.

It doesn't effect his status because he probably wasn't coming here anyways. Hate to say it, but he's one of a few top flite recruits likely toying with the Badgers because we're showing them a lot of attention and respect. He'll be Spartan when his recruitment concludes.
Taylor Hill would seem more like a relatively highly touted recruit whom the Badgers would have a legit shot at if we shifted more focus onto him. The primary in state school didn't offer (OSU), and the remaining options on his list seem less palatable than Wisconsin for an OOS recruit (Michigan St., Pitt, Cuse, Indiana). Ships have sailed from the Oklahoma and West Virginia harbors with decommits.
