A family friend of Locke's of a 'kicker from Phoenix with strong Badger interest' posted on the Wisco Scout message boards a couple months back. It was quickly discovered by a few posters that the player was Locke, and it was not denied by the OP. His recruitment has picked up since then, though.

From the GT site...recently flew to Atlanta for a visit. Also visited Wisconsin, Nebraska and Stanford earlier this summer. Has offers from all those schools plus South Carolina, North Carolina, Arizona State, UCLA and Washington State.

Punting Prospect Visits USC
By Phil Kornblut
USC hosted Tuesday it's top target for a punter in Jeff Locke (6-2 195) of Phoenix. "We met with the coaching staff and got a tour of the facilities," Locke's father said Wednesday night. "We sat down and had lunch with Ryan Succup. We got a tour of the campus. We talked with coach Spurrier and his son. They are looking for someone to come on in. And we spent quite a bit of the day with coach Chatham." Locke also visited North Carolina while on the trip to the Southeast. He also has visited Georgia Tech, Nebraska, UCLA, Stanford, Arizona State and San Diego State. All of the schools he's visited have offered, and he also has offers from Washington State and Colorado State. According to is father, Locke has not narrowed his list. "He's trying to give weight to all the factors," Mr. Locke said. "There's so much to look at." Locke also is a placekicker but most of the schools, including USC, like him first as a punter. Last season he averaged over 43 yards per punt. 87% of his kickoffs went for touchbacks. He was 7-11 on field goals with a long of 43 yards. His career long is 48. And he has not missed an extra point in three years. Locke will try to make his decision before his school starts with a target date of mid-August.
