I was wrong. Good luck to him. He seems like a good kid. It's still my belief that he's a linebacker at the next level.....but he's a baller regardless. He picked a good school if my prediction about his position comes to fruition (LB U).

Maybe we should have more strategically placed our visit so it was at the forefront of his mind.

I still don't believe the silent verbal reports. I think silent verbals are tantamount to bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster (I wish Nessy was real). There's simply no point to silent verballing. But the reports that he was a strong PSU lean for a while were probably true.

No big surprise really. Would have loved to grab him, but I wish him best of luck. We still got other RBs on the board...like you, Bern, I wanted him at LB though. Maybe we can land Rollins.

I've heard positive things about Pead, and he's at least Rivals100 caliber IMO, so he's our next best possibility. I've been consistent in saying he would be a better option at RB, and there were several better options for that position, which could be our most urgent need. Beachum would have been a luxury (still hurts). Striking out on these players is affordable considering that we've filled so many needs early. I'm not saying it isn't frustrating. Maybe the tide will turn if we're patient and wait to bear the fruit from an inevitably successful Badger season.

yeah, and who knows, some of our recruits might have more impressive senior seasons than their junior seasons and the 08 class could turn out better than it is now

The fact is that Beachum verballed to the PSU staff about two weeks ago. He waited to make his announcement so he wouldn't interfere with McCarthy's.

As far as Isaiah Pead goes, I've heard he's an acedemic question...and considering your recent history of players with academic concerns, I'd be surprised if you guys were strongly interested.
