Rowley was at the NY2LA AAU tournament in Milwaukee this weekend, and reportedly was wearing a "Wisconsin basketball shirt".
Rowley certainly looks the part, has potential, and is coachable enough to improve as he matures. He intrigues me more than Evan Anderson, with the lack of footwork and basketball skills that I've witnessed from the Eau Claire center. He also didn't seem to have much passion for the game in the interview I saw. Like he was a guy compelled to play just because he was tall. If we took Rowley in '09 we'd risk being heavily frontcourt laden and devoid of an ideal amount of 1/2/3's with experience. But that was our team construction this year and we survived. It's supposedly not a given that Evans arrives at Wisconsin with a 4-year scholarship even if he signs. He might be on scholarship in '08 and then play it by ear in the future years. If he could be essentially a 14th legitimate scholarship level player, that would be a God-send for mix and depth.

Kyle Rowley
For anyone that has watched Rowley:
What is his real height?
What is his weight down to?
How good of a shooter is he(form mechanics)
How good of an athlete is he(does he have good mobility and quick jumping)

Here are a couple articles which may answer your questions: ILPrepsBullseye MidStateHoops
Also, from IllinoisHighSchoolBasketball:
Quote:
"Kyle Rowley of Lake Forest Academy is one of the fastest rising post prospects in the nation, as the 7-0 Center has been collecting offers from high major schools across the nation. His most recent offer came on Friday when he was on a visit to the University of Wisconsin, and Head Coach Bo Ryan and assistant Howard Moore extended an offer.
"Rowley, who has been at LFA since coming from Trinidad last summer, saw his stock soar this season playing with Full Package 16u, as he had strong showings at a number of top national tournaments. Rowley is a big bodied 7 footer with tons of upside and a vastly improving skill set, and could end up being one of the better post prospects in the nation for his class, and the best in the state. Rowley also has been trimming down lately, losing weight and gaining muscle, and showed off his improved mobility in the post and ability to run the floor while playing in the Full Package Exposure League brought to you by Illinoishsbasketball.com.
"This season Rowley will compete on a Lake Forest Academy team that will be one of the better teams across the nation. Alongside Rowley in the front line will be 7-0 Senegal native Aziz N’Daye and 6-8 junior forward Todd Zafirovski. Patrolling the perimeter for LFA will be junior point guard David Smith and senior shooting guard Nate Bateman. The wildcard on the team will be 6-5 sophomore forward Michal Banczer from Poland, who has a chance to be a big time player. All of them are division one prospects.
"Rowley now holds offers from Wisconsin, Northwestern, Baylor, Southern Illinois, and Davidson. Kentucky, Illinois, Washington State, Kansas, and Georgetown are also recruiting Rowley."

Thanks Mr. Bernini,
Do you know how good of a shooter he is? Does he have good form and makes free throws?
Is he one of those big guys that takes a while to get off the ground when he jumps?

Here's another article from IllinoisPrepsBullseye, where it references that he can make a mid range jumper. I get the impression that he's early Greg Stiemsma in that area. He's kind of raw, being from Trinidad, so his basketball skills probably aren't fully developed. But he's an intelligent guy, so project improvements.
I'm not sure about free throws.
He averaged 1.8 blocks per game, so I'm guessing he's not a quick leaper. You block that many shots alone at the high school level, being near 7 feet.

What is Wisconsin going to do with their scholarship situation? Why are they still offering all these guys.

Rowley, along with the likes of Prosser, Williams, Russell, etc were all offered a long time ago when the Badgers were not full. We have not offered anyone (2009 guys) since potentially filling our roster with the Ryan Evans commit.
It has been speculated that we may still have another spot coming available in the near future; however, my guess is that that spot is reserved for Jamil if he wants to commit. My guess is that Bo would not (and possibly can't) take a commit from any of these guys.

Does anyone know how Rowley has been playing the past few weekends, and this weekend in Indy?

I sense another "Announcement" coming. Apparently they don't like it when you break their rules.
"7) Please don't post things like "Anything new?" or "Anyone hearing anything?" or any variation of the sort. When info or news is available, we will post it."
I found that out in the Isiah Nunn thread.

I'm not sure what you are referring to. My question was in regards to how well is Rowley playing/progressing? He was at the Pitt, then the Lebron, and this weekend he is playing in Indy...

I asked if anyone knew what Isiah Nunn's plans were for the summer and how he was doing. In response there was an announcement and the rules got posted again. I was saying that your question of...
