First of all let me just say the Jeronne Maymon will never even consider going to Wisconsin. One reason being that he doesnt like our style of play. But the main reason he will never attend UW is his dad. My best friend is a good friend of Jeronne's and he used to play for Memorial (now plays for Lafollete), and supposedly Jeronne's dad told Bo that the only way that he could land Jeronne is if he allowed his older brother DeVonte to play as well. Of course Bo being who he is (only wanting players that fit in his system) he denied the offer, and so there is probably no chance at getting Jeronne. Jeronne is supposedly really interested in Memphis and that is probably where he'll be going.

It's plausible that he doesn't prefer UW's style of play. I've heard the rumour about trying to use leverage for his brother but I don't buy it as plausible. Nobody could reasonably believe Devonte justifies the use of a high major D1 scholarship. His dad's not even a rap mogul, nor is he a former rapper. Also, I love Jeronne as a player, but he doesn't have a whole lot of leverage with people alleging he's a tweener. I've never seen public reports that Memphis has interest in Jeronne. They wouldn't be a bid fit though, because their grade requirements are minimal.

From what i hear about Jamil Wilson, he will most likely commit to UW, why he is holding out on his decision i dont know.

We've heard the same from TroyD, however I heard recently from normally a pretty reliable source, who has connections with the Wisconsin program, that the chances Wilson ends up at Wisconsin are very minimal.

If Wilson doesn't choose Wisconsin (which unfortunately means he's favoring Marquette), who jumps to the top of Bo's wish list?

And David Sheidegger is a great coach and deserved to finally get his state championship. (And a side note to the announcers at the state tournament: it's New BERlin, not New BerLIN.)

Unfortunately the recruit I was referring to was Jamil Wilson. The guy seems to believe he'll go to Marquette based on insider information. I'm getting pulled in a billion different directions with his recruitment, so I'm not sure what to believe anymore. My instincts were that he'd end up at Marquette based upon attractive style, a star NBA player he can emulate being an NBA alum, etc.....so I'll stick with that opinion. I hope TroyD proves this other guy and I wrong though.

If we don't feel comfortable waiting for Jamil much longer, we might act on one of the '08 wings like Ryan Evans, a late bloomer from Arizona.

Late bloomer is right, I don't see him on Scout or Rivals.

Was he at the Penn State game possibly? I actually pointed to someone standing near the student section during/before the game (recruits/players always wait at a certain spot near the student section for some reason) and said to my friend that he was obviously a basketball player, but that I didn't recognize him as one of Bo's recruits. If he was Evans that would explain why.

I assume this would mean Evans would walk on next year and receive a scholarship his sophomore year? Unless a transfer or something happened after this year.

Him refusing to do an interview is part of the reason why he doesn't have a profile.

Yeah, he was visiting during the PSU game. He's around 6 feet 6 inches, if that helps. I'll take a few minutes to look for some information and pictures.

He'd take Gullickson's scholarship I'd imagine.

Here is a recent Maymon article. Talks about his grade issues. Sounds like he is really gonna try to focus on school the remainder of the year and over the summer.

It does sound like he's got his head in the right place. I was impressed when I heard about the "I'm sorry" text he sent his coach after losing the state championship game. A more "ME"-centered player might have focused on the monster numbers he put up, but Maymon was all about getting the win.

Wisconsin forward Jeronne Maymon emptied his tank against Seattle Rotary to the tune of 29 points. He's a tough player to defend because he hurts teams in so many ways. In this game, he had it going as a wing man. Maymon earned some respect from recruiters with his play.

More national analysts lauding Maymon's overall game, and asserting he has the ability to play the wing. You think some Badger fans are just rationalizing he's trash because he won't academically qualify. Yep.

As you might expect, when a player goes off for 36 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and five steals while leading his team to a three-point victory in one of the most prestigious travel-team events in the country, those in attendance will take notice.

Such is most definitely the case for Madison Memorial junior Jeronne Maymon, who led the Wisconsin Gators Elite to a 3-1 record in the Real Deal on the Hill Tournament this past weekend in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Maymon turned in one strong performance after another and opened the eyes of college recruiters in attendance with his versatility, strength and productivity.

According to Maymon’s father, Tim, the phone has been ringing off the hook as coaches from schools such as Clemson, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota and West Virginia have made contact.

Wisconsin assistant coach Howard Moore has developed a relationship with the family and remains in contact........

His stock continues to rise...

Maymon's only weakness on the court right now is his ability to step away from the basket and shoot the perimeter jump shot with consistency. Look for him to continue to increase his stock this weekend if he has another strong performance in Ohio.
