Wisconsin High School Basketball - Boys / Youth Basketball - Boys
College Interest: Baylor and Marquette have offered scholarships. Davis took an unofficial visit to Wisconsin during the football season and for the Colorado basketball game last month. Other high-major programs are also very interested.
Davis and Anderson in 2010? Oh My!

Averaged nearly a double double on the season (with 16.5 points). In addition to his offers, he's receiving interest from; Wisconsin, Tennessee, G'Town, UCLA, Kentucky, Kansas, and Indiana.

After playing with DTA earlier in the spring, Davis was back with his old running mates and the Scholars at NY2LA. He had a difficult time getting good looks at the basket in a loss to Playground Elite. The length and athleticism of the Playground Elite defenders really seemed to frustrate Davis.

BadgerBlitz.com - Kentucky HoopFest
Although Davis' Wisconsin Scholars lost to the Speice Indy Heat at the Kentucky Hoopfest, Davis played a very impressive game. He finished with 31 points and it was said that there was nothing that the young player couldn't do.

So he's #86 on the brand new Rivals100 for 2010. We already have 2 top 40 commitments in Anderson and Blue. Anybody know what our chances are of landing a 3rd top 100 player from Wisconsin?

It would sure be nice to add a SF to this class. Given that Wisconsin is so deep in 2010, it would be great to be able to add another player in 2010 to spread out the classes (instead of 4 in 2011). I say this assuming that the addition to the 2010 class would likely be Davis if a spot were to be vacated. I know a lot of people want to dream of landing Barnes at SF if there were a spot open, but I feel that Barnes is a reach.
Either way, I like Davis. It isn't unrealistic to think that a spot will open up. As has been pointed out, even a program as good as UW has been routinely hit with attrition, transfers, etc. Who knows....guess we will have to wait and see. It definitely pays to continue to follow Flavien and Barnes though as I am guessing a 3rd opening would be used on a forward.

It's bizarre that he's #86 in the Rivals national 150, but only the 9th best prospect in Wisconsin according to Mark Miller. A product of an extraordinarily deep in state class and Miller's over-reaction to Flavien's struggles partially due to injury this offseason.
Wisconsin's chances would be great to land another top 100 from the state, if, like OW said, there is some attrition, namely Gavinski not being asked to return for a 5th year. I'm sure that won't be determined for a long time though. At least we'll have to see how much he contributes this season before renewing interest in prospect from 2010. Kelm checks in at 130 and there's a lot of time between now and the last ranking and Kadima is probably only excluded because of his knee injury. I can pretty much guarantee that if another schollie is vacated you'll see a commitment in or around the the top 100, not that it's a major motivation of ours.

I still say Flavien is the best player in Wisconsin regardless of year. He is a major player ive been too a camp with him and he is a great player and this was two years ago. IDK why Miller would put Flavien #9 are his ratings based on performance leading up too when he makes his rankings, because then I suppose I could understand.

While following the 2010 class they've almost unfolded like a power ranking and are heavily influenced by in state coaches, especially UW's.

I think Flavien is a great prospect. Granted, Mark Miller probably sees these kids more than we can and knows a thing or two about recruiting, it would seem that his rankings are based largely on how a kid is performing currently and not on future potential.
I am also going to go out there and say (based upon almost nothing) that I would think Flavien is reasonably interested in Wisconsin. You hear very little about him wanting to commit soon or even having any favorites. There is also the fact that he has visited Wisconsin's campus at least 2 (known) times. I am guessing that he knows Wisconsin's situation as far as scholarships go and he is also aware that scholarships tend to open up given time. Since he seems to be taking his TIME with recruitment, I would guess he is at least going to wait long enough to see if there is the option to end up at Wisconsin. He is also probably waiting in order to gather some more high-profile offers.
I would love to have him as the 3rd member of this class. I guess time will tell if we have a spot.
Does anyone know what Flavien's situation is as far as academics? At this point would he seem to be a qualifier?
