I'd prefer he stay in-state first, so I guess that means he'd be going out of the Big Ten. But if UW or Marquette doesn't get him I'd rather have any Big Ten team as a distant third over all other conferences.

#1. Wisconsin of course
#2. Marquette- I have fringe interest at least in their success, and I think that the players who are home grown, someone in state should exploit the built in recruiting advantage. Players blazing trails outside of the state is probably not good for Wisconsin in the long run. Also, it would be easier to follow his career if he stayed in state.
#3. A national power like UNC or UCLA- They've been in the hunt for a national championship most years under their current coaches. I can completely understand the desire to compete on the biggest stage. Also, I'd have an opportunity to follow his career.
#9999. The Big Ten- Wisconsin has been as good as, or better, than anyone in the Big Ten since Bo Ryan became our head coach. If we truly had a schollie available, then it would be kind of insulting if he went elsewhere in the conference. We'd have to play him 2-3 times a season. And MSU or Indiana fans would rub it in our face and make presumptions in future recruiting battles.

Not good, depending on how much weight you put on word of mouth information. Over on WSN, AK22 just posted...

I think he was trying to say that Wisconsin isn't one of his top schools and that the decision is between Marquette and MSU.

I saw where that was posted. I believe it was on the free scout board. I will look for it later tonight and post the link if I can find it again.

Anyway, I am not going to put any stock in a 1 post comment made on a FREE board. I mean, realistically I could go over to MSU and say the same thing and act like I was Jamil's friend. That is the problem with a lot of the forums. Even with articles for that matter....I mean take the whole Kentucky thread about Evan committing to UK. A kid came over to the UW board and was posting that we were a lost cause for Evan (even citing his AAU buddy)....which was obviously not the case.

I guess what I am saying is that I don't much believe posts unless there are reputable sources or multiple accounts of the same story.

Also, Jamil may not come to UW, but I would tend to think that this is mostly b/c our lack of space and his decision to prolong his recruitment. I wholeheartedly think that if we had a spot, he would or would have have become a Badger.

A few highlights of Jamil dominating the paint.

Prosser says that he has narrowed his schools to a top 6 which include: Iowa, Indiana, Purdue, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Texas A&M. --> reading between the lines leads me to believe he will be a Hoosier or a Hawkeye.

But whatever the case.....I find it interesting to see UW still making the cut with the apparent lack of scholarships for 2009; however, Prosser says that there is still a spot for him.

This is all very interesting in regards to the "will there be another 2009 spot?" debate......mainly concerning fans who are worried about Jamil Wilson not being given a chance to be a Badger.

NY2LASports: Wilson's Cactus Classic Performance

5/13

Quote:
The Playground Elite 17U squad featuring two of the top 2009 prospects nationally in Jamil Wilson (left) and Johnnie Lacy put down a very strong performance this past weekend at the 2008 Arizona Cactus Classic as they advanced to the Final Four before dropping a 1 point heartbreaker to the eventual champion Houston Hoops squad. Their ability to play physical inside, score on the blocks, and attack the glass was the key to their success this past weekend. As for Wilson, he was relentless on the glass throughout the tournament as he began to show flashes of an ability to play on the blocks and dominate on the interior, something that he'll really need to continue to develop to reach the high expectations being laid upon him right now. With his length, athleticism, and ability to step away from the basket and score, Wilson could become an absolute monster of a prospect if he continues to develop his ability to get out in transition and finish as well as an ability to utilize to his size, length, and athleticism to post up and attack the glass on both ends.

Rivals $

5/14

Basically the Kentucky Rivals' site is giving their fans an introduction of Jamil Wilson. Most of the info we're already aware of, I'm sure. Wilson is still maintaining he's wide open. He lists a few criteria for picking a school, almost all seemingly the Badgers would satisfy if they have a schollie available.

I didn't catch this video before. It's of Racine Horlick when they played Muskego, during Jamil's sophomore season. He's wearing #21 in red and accumulated quite a few highlights in this game, showing off a variety of skills. Bo Ryan is shown early on being accosted by some high school chicks for his autograph.

Wilson- Horlick v. Muskego
