2011 PG George Marshall Jr. came up big with 25 but what was just as impressive was 6'7" 2011 F Kevin Gray who hit for 13 points. Marshall did most of his work off the dribble last night as he continuously was able to attack the rim and break down the Madison guards. The few times they backed off Marshall took advantage as he also knocked down a couple of trey balls as well. Marshall is one of the top 2011 prospects in the Midwest right now and he did nothing but further support that notion as he is really taking his game to another level right now. Gray was also impressive as the young talent hit the high school scene with a ton of promise and while he still has a ways to go, he displayed some excellent footwork and moves around the basket last night and was solid in creating problems on the defensive end as well. Brooks is one of the top young programs in the state of Illinois and last night's performance against a senior laden Madison team was another step forward in that development.

3. George Marshall Jr. - Brooks College Preparatory Academy
The elite 2011 talent was impressive once again as he attacked the rim, stroked the trey ball, and really created havoc for Madison all night. Marshall has long been regarded as one of the top 2011 talents in the Midwest and his continued development as a floor leader and ability to take over offensively are impressive to watch. As he continues to develop his lateral quickness on the defensive end of the floor Marshall is going to be a beast in the coming years.

The class of 2011 is loaded with great point guards, even more so than 2010. The three top combo guards in the class are Donivine Stewart of Limestone, Ryan Boatright of East Aurora, and Tracey Abrams of Mt. Carmel. Three of the top 4 point guards are Jay Parker of Thornton, Garret Jones of Evanston, and George Marshall of Brooks. The #1 point guard in Illinois for the class of 2011 is Chasson Randle of Rock Island, who plays for the Illinois Wolves. He could emerge as a top 3 player overall with a strong summer. Also, don’t sleep on Kentrell King of Crete-Monee, Greg Travis of Curie, Tywon Pickney of Simeon, Alphonse Mathews of Farragut and Julius Brown of Hillcrest who are all terrific point guards.

11. George Marshall, 6-0, PG, Chicago (Brooks) ... Will knock down shots. Has good vision and feel. Solid basketball I.Q. who understands the game. He does lack ideal size and is not a top-level athlete, but he is simply a rock solid player. For comparison sake, Marshall has some Eric Maynor in him if anyone remembers the former VCU point guard.

Few coaches have spent as much time recruiting in Chicago during December as Moore, who also attended the Public League Red-South battle between Brooks and Chicago Vocational last week for the purpose of watching 5'11 class of 2011 point guard George Marshall. Right now the Badgers are among the frontrunners for Marshall's services.

Nice!! I really want Crider. Randle would be nice, but I'd be real happy with Jackson too.

Awesome! Just after I complain we have a guy that I can truly get excited about! Moore just watched him play yesterday, and obviously has seen him a ton, so his hard work paid off in this spot. Very excited about this commitment
On a side note - the last article states that Hodges plays for Romeoville haha

"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."

Very excited about the potential of the 11' class and the 12' class. Especially if we get Tokoto. What's the real chances we land Randle? 15 percent?

thx for the heads up Troy.
FWIW, Jackson is having a really good HS season right now. I think he wants to play point though.
