If the Bucks were to draft DeRozan, I'd streak down Wisconsin Avenue in red and green body paint. In all seriousness, I think he'll end up being the best player from this draft when it's all said and done. But since I'm used to disappointment by now from this franchise when it comes to the draft (I loathed Yi and Joe "Potsie" Alexander more than any other prospects before the Bucks' picked them), I'll assume they'll draft somebody more like Jordan Hill. A big uncoordinated gawky bird with low basketball I.Q and a weak skill-set.
My mock would be:
1. Blake Griffin - LAC
2. Ricky Rubio - Sacto (trade)
3. Hasheem Thabeet - OKC
4. James Harden - Memphis
5. Stephen Curry - Miniscrotum
6. Tyreke Evans - Miniscrotum (interchangeable selections of course)
7. Brandon Jennings - Golden State
8. Jonny Flynn - New York
9. Demar DeRozan - Toronto
10. Jordan Hill - Milwaukee
I might project Jrue Holiday to the Bucks if I weren't so used to disappointment. I'm not the highest on him, but I think he'll be solid in the league.
My own personal prospect rankings would be:
1. Demar Derozan
2. Blake Griffin
3. James Harden
4. Ricky Rubio
5. Stephen Curry
6. Earl Clark
7. Jonny Flynn
8. Austin Daye
9. Terrence Williams
10. Tywon Lawson
11. Hasheem Thabeet
12. Jrue Holiday
13. Omri Casspi
14. Jerel McNeal
15. Eric Maynor
HM: Hansbrough, Budinger, Teague, Beaubois, Henderson, Summers, Claver
Busts: BJ Mullens (am I right, that guy was presenceless while he was at OSU), Brandon Jennings, James Johnson, Jordan Hill, Sam Young
N/A: Tyreke Evans (ball dominator type who may put up statistics and be perceived as good early in his career but later gets exposed as teams that he leaves improves....kind of like a Corey Maggette, Ricky Davis, Larry Hughes, Al Thornton, AI, or Stephon Marbury)
This is a very weak class overall. I concur with fellow draftniks who've also made that assertion. I said that after watching the high school All American games in 2008. Those players on average weren't nearly as advanced as the members of the '07 and '06 classes. Which made for a lackluster year in college basketball and upperclassman leadership reign supreme.

Its either gonna be Johnny Flynn or Brandon Jennings. Bucks are both high on those two guys. Tyreke Evans wont be a good pro. Holliday will also not be a good pro. Listen to Bill Simmons and Chad Ford on Espn. Listen to this weeks BS report if you have nothing to do for an hour. Its good stuff.

I think they are going to resign sessions, so I don't think it will be a pg. Getting Amir Johnson sealed Charlie's fate, IMO. I would love DeRozen, but would be happy with Daye. If the Bucks are in a rebuilding mode it would be better to take a project. I think Jennings has star potential, but could also flop. Rubio I would not touch, because
Quote:
When asked about their head-to-head matchup last year, the 6-foot-2 Jennings boasted, "Well, when I played him, he had zero points, two assists and two turnovers. So you tell me how that went."
Records of the game from the Euroleague's official Web site showed Rubio went scoreless with three assists and three turnovers in just nine minutes of play. Jennings posted 12 points and two assists in Lottomatica Roma's 97-93 loss to Rubio's DKV Joventut.

Pretty big red flag

Rubio went up against chris paul, jason kidd, and Dearon Williams in the gold medal game, and stuck with them. He got hurt in that game also and kept up with those three guards. Oh by the way he's 17 I believe.

I think this draft is going to either be a huge boom or a huge bust.
Guys like Griffin, Thabeet, and Hill are major projects.
Flynn and Curry have questions about Durability
Holliday, Jennings, Evans, and Derozan have a lot of the P word.
The only semi lock to me is Harden because of his skill set.

Flynn has durability questions? He played practically every minute for Syracuse and not sure if you recall a 6 ot games against Uconn? Durability is flynn's strength

I highly doubt any of their dealings yesterday will preclude the Bucks from taking a point guard or power forward in tomorrow's draft. I'd still say it's highly (like 90+%) they take one or the other (from my understanding their top 3 is Hill, Flynn, and Holiday). Acquiring RJ on the morn of the draft last year didn't stop them from taking Joe "Potsie" Alexander and Luc Richard Mbah A Moute. Earlier the draft process they had been inviting solely small forward prospects that were 1st round fodder to workout, and as a result, once the RJ trade was made, they were in no position to make an adjustment. Similarly this year, the first round potentials they worked out almost solely consisted of point guards and power forwards (which infuriated me because I hate the idea of drafting based on need and not BPA). I believe the final breakdown was 6 point guards, 2 power forwards (3 if you count Pendergraph), and 1 center. The center was BJ Mullens, who they admitted having no interest in during the presser afterward, so it was just a favor to him and his agent. So once again they aren't in proper position to make an adjustment subsequent to a move so soon before the draft. Anyways, I think the Bucks would still prefer to draft a 1 or 4 ideally because it's insurance in case free agents like Sessions, Villanueva, and Ilysova price them out of any amount they're willing to match. Tuesday's dealings didn't preclude re-signing Villanueva either (although I think it's an unlikelihood because they just aren't that fond of him). Amir Johnson is an option at starting power forward, but I think it would be tenuous going into the season without competition. Supposedly they really like Ilyasova (he killed it in Europe this past season and is still young) so he'd be the alternative to Amir Johnson. And then maybe who they draft at #10 or if they acquire a later first and pick Hansbrough or Pendergraph.

I'd more say it's bust or pleasantly solid because there are way more players who are raw and will be picked on potential than usual. Even if a high amount of them succeed, it will just propel it to an average draft. And once you get beyond 10-15, those players have extremely low ceilings outside of Daye and some of the international guys. The 2nd round is below average also.
I agree that Harden is the surest thing in the draft though. Blake Griffin could end up as a K-Mart or David Lee clone because of his questionable jumper and only adequate height/length, but I'd project Grandmama because of his handle, agility, and creativity.

Im talking about his durability questions long term, similar to AI, TJ Ford, Etc...
Dont get me wrong because after Derozan Flynn is my favorite player in the draft.(closet Cuse fan)

If the Bucks drafted Jonny Flynn I might actually have some interest in the team. Flynn was one of my favorite players to watch in college last year.

No way......PonzYi may have been able to dominate the chair, but it's too quick for Bobby Simmons.

League sources say the Nets have narrowed their choices at No. 11 to North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough and Duke's Gerald Henderson

Lots of times teams throw out false rumors to get teams to make trades that they wouldn't have to. Although that may be true, a lot of times you can't believe everything the league sources say
