Wright sais in your face Sad Matta! Wright lit up the King City Classic yesterday in the first session by putting up all around numbers. 10 pts, 6 steals, 6 assists, 2 turnovers, 7 rebounds. And to put the icing on the cake he locked up top 10 player and (OSU recruit) Deshaun Thomas by allowing only 2 points and causing the elite player to turn the ball over 4 times. OH yeah did I mention this was all while Thad Matta had a front row seat in watching his top recruit get shut down. Pay back is great.
here's the article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Nice scoop - a possible future Michael Flowers on D?

Good read. He seems like a very classy, coachable young man. Very encouraging to see that we appear at worst tied with Indiana for his services. He really seems to be impressed by Bo

Talks about the schools interested in him. Says he likes Wisconsin, and wants to get his parents up there to see the school with him.
Another positive sign here

An interesting blurb from Mark Miller over on the Scout free board:
Quote:
Had a chance to watch both Zach McCabe of Sioux City Heelen and Cameron Wright of Cleveland St. Benedict at the grassroots tourney in Mequon.
With Bo Ryan looking on, both the 6-7 McCabe and 6-4 Wright played exceptionally well.
McCabe went off for 30 points in a victory over a Hoop Planet team that features Jalen Kendrick. He displayed a sweet shooting stroke from beyond the arc and also was able to get to the basket by using his physical strength and ball handling skill. He is not overly quick nor explosive, but has a good feel for the game and can really make shots. Minnesota and Iowa have extended scholarships, and UW is at the minimum showing interest.
Wright is really a very, very good player. Very steady. Very intelligent. Showed some athleticism and has a nice perimeter shot. Good size and strength. A classic Bo Ryan-type of player. Interesting that Vander Blue was in the gym watching Wright Monday evening.

How do you guys interpret Vander coming to watch? Sizing up his competition for the last scholarship in the 2010 class or sizing up a potential future teammate (if there is room)?

Hypothetically he could be trying to gauge how patient he could be about pulling the trigger on Wisconsin, based on if Cam Wright would be the slow play type or the real deal. More likely though he's just a basketball junkie and has relationships with some players involved from the AAU circuit.

Didn't we end up concluding that Glover will be given a CHANCE TO EARN a scholarship? There was no actually pay 1, get 3 or 4 deal in the end.
Either way, I hope JP decides to graduate and pursue a career after 4 years. Maybe the UW can employ him to work with the athletic department....alright, I am stretching it.
