This would be a great get an athletic shot blocker and rebounder who is still very raw, and he goes to one of the best academic schools in Illinois thats a great combo.

Scout $
Wisconsin is still the only school to offer, but, Illinois, Florida, Purdue, and Oregon St.; are all showing interest.
Egwu is an oddity as a recruit because he rarely starts, and sometimes even never plays. But the author has seen several times first hand that Egwu is a game changer on defense and boards when allowed to play. Feels like the coach is being rigid in his thinking not playing him because he doesn't match up with anybody on the other team (kind of like a Stiemsma thing). Much like Stiemsma the game peculiarly swings in his team's favor while he's in the ballgame.

I was actually just talking about the same thing today with regards Stiemsma. Just think how much Stiemsma would have had an effect this year had he redshirted his freshman year. That leads to the question of who is going to step up defensively in the paint next year when Landry is gone?

Im sick of the badgers having slow, unathletic big men. We need at least one ultra athletic big man who can guard the other teams best post player, block shots, rebound, and alter shots in the paint

From what I've heard, he's going to commit to the Illini once his parents visit the campus and give their blessing.

Illinois had 5 for the class of 2007, so while I'm not positive, I am going to guess that 2011 will be a big class. Egwu would be their second, along with Tracy Abrams

Top two of Illinois and Purdue, expected to make a decision soon. No chance here
