No. 9-ranked Paul Jesperson of Merrill has good size (6-5) and length for a guard and is a capable three-point shooter.

Badgers seem pretty interested here. Gard was on hand at the Best Buy Classic to watch Jesperson and Riley Dearring

Arizona State becomes first high-major school to offer Merrill's Jesperson
Jesperson has gotten an offer from Arizona St, in addition to previous offers from Colorado St, Loyola (IL), ND St, N Iowa, San Diego, SD St, UWM, and UWGB,
Quote:
Head coach Herb Sendek from Arizona State called Jesperson Tuesday evening and offered the highly skilled and ever-improving 6-foot-7 wing prospect a scholarship.
“We expect this offer to be the first of several, if not many, from high-major schools,” Merrill coach Kurt Soderberg said. “Arizona State thinks Paul’s ceiling is so high. When they saw him in his ball handling and shooting workout this week, they saw what he’s capable of becoming.”
|
Interesting to see he is now listed at 6-7. I think Bo needs to pull the trigger with an offer soon before more schools get in on him. Does Sendek have a contact in WI? He has tried to be a lot more active up here going after Gasser and now Jesperson.

I'll try to talk to Paul and see what he thinks about the offer.. I have a hard time believing he's 6-7.. I've known him since he was in like 2nd grade. Hard to imagine him being 7 inches taller than me.

May very well have been the best junior prospect on the court this weekend as he turned in a scintillating effort on Saturday that included 12 trey balls in the two games watched. Dropped a 40 piece and then followed that up with 25 points and was lights out in both from beyond the arc. Showed improved ability to score off the bounce both attacking the rim and hitting mid range looks. Has solid athleticism as well. A definite high major talent who continues to come into his own. One of the 10 best pure shooting guard prospects in the country for the class when you look at range, stroke, size, and upside. Excellent performance this weekend.

A poster on Buckyville said there's rumors that Minnesota is close to offering.

Offered by Tony Bennett and the University of Virginia today. Getting a real impressive offer list

He chose to attend the Virginia elite camp over Wisconsin's camp so I think that reveals where UW stands/feels about Jesperson.
