Bradley is struggling again after his mini breakout performance, scoring just 5 points combined the last two games.

Bradley is indeed struggling, however his lack of scoring could be deceiving given his unjustified lack of playing time. In Tosa East's last game against Marquette Larry only played 6 minutes I believe, a game in which tosa east lost by i think 5. Something fishy is going on and his lack of playing time is definitely something to keep an eye on over the next year or so...

Seems right now that he should of went to Memorial....Imagine 4 of the best prospects in Wisconsin on the same team, and right in UW's backyard.....

Larry is now starting for Tosa east...as of last night. (1/27/09) - He received more playing time then anyone else on the team. He scored 5 points had about 8 assists and a couple boards. This kid IS NOT a shoot first player - he is a true point guard that looks to distribute the ball first. He is not driven by putting up 20 shots a night. I think he took 4 shots last night. He is hands down the best player i have seen at the high school level and that includes the kids up at Madison Memorial who I have seen play. In my opinion he is a far better player then Vander.

Yes, East lost to Marquette the other night - big deal. They are loaded and deeper then any team I have seen in the state. Just because a kid transfers in and is eligble to play a quarter of the way into the season does not mean you just put him in the starting line-up and give him a ton of minutes. Larry had to learn a new offense and now that he has a handle on it....he is starting.

If you guys expect him to average 20pts a game this year - you do not know this kid and have not watched him play. All this talk on here about how he should have gone to Memorial is nuts...if I recall correctly East handled Memorial ok in the state title game last year.

Amd with the exception of 1 year in the last 4 or 5 Memorial has had troubles against teams from Milwaukee. (in milwaukee there is actually competition, unilke the schedule the Madison teams play.)

The kid is in the right program and will be their featured player in the years to come...remember he is just a sophmore on a team that is loaded with good seniors and juniors. That said, he is now starting and will most likely the rest of the way.

Can we put some of this to rest now?
Well first I 100% agree about stats being a horrible indicator of Larry Bradley, because he is the definition of a true PG. However my point with going to Memorial is that there would be 4 of the top prospects in the state(nationally as well) on the same team in UW's back-yard with one going to UW and one to MU so two forces helping keep the kids instate. Memorial is the best team in the state no matter what you believe, but this is a great first post! Welcome...

I think you're being over-emotional. Nobody really criticized him. Myself and others simply pointed out that he was struggling getting integrated into the system and Tosa East might not be the best fit for him. It wasn't just based on box scores. BW4Life saw him play in person and I've seen quite a few highlights, and both of us observed him playing off the ball an irregular amount for a TRUE POINT GUARD. Which you acknowledged he was, so playing that role was not properly utilizing his skills. If he is hands down the best player you've ever seen at the high school level, but wasn't starting, the only conclusions one can come to are: a. he was struggling earlier, b. Arndofer has a screw loose. And I doubt it's the latter since he won a state championship last year. It's not like Tosa East was just dominating anyway so they shouldn't fix what isn't broken. They lost two games after Bradley was declared eligible. I hope he solidifies himself as a high major D1 prospect now that's he's been promoted to the starting lineup where the best player you've ever seen belongs.

The post above probably came off a little strong. This is my first time on a board like this. I have been to a few games and have some friends that went to East back in the day that still watch the program fairly close.

I googled the kids name after seeing him play and ended up reading the recent posts here. Since I have seen him play recently and heard about his playing progression since joining the East squad - it sounds like this is going to be a great fit.

Did not mean to cause a stir here and if I did, I apologize. Great site you have here and enjoy the rest of the year.

In congruence, I never have doubted the ability of Larry Bradley-the kid is loaded with natural ability... i merely questioned whether or not tosa east really was as great of a fit as everyone assumed it would be including myself...Concerns began to creep into my head that his transfering might have had more to do with his uncle and current legal guardian Marshall Williams(former vincent prep standout) getting back at vincent for not hiring him as their head coach after diener left and as punishment left the program and took larry with him...as a result leaving larry in a situation where his best interests may not have been the top priority...(Marshall making a power play...) Furthermore i am very excited to here he is beginning to play more and actually started the last game...although this took way longer than it should have and the game before against marquette he did not start and only played a little less than a whole quarter. Lastly, the teams that tosa east is playing against in the GMC - Greater Metro Conference are essentially at best on par with the teams in the madison area conference this year... tosa east does not play against teams from milwaukee unless out of conference and therefore rarely has to face the daunting and rigorous teams of the milwaukee city conference (which is the best conference in the state every single year and frankly it never even close).

Larry is off East's team for unknown reasons(his choice someone elses). I thought this was doomed from the beginning. He would be better off at a school like Hamilton or Memorial. I hope he gets all this figured out he is such an amazing talent he is wasting his ability with moving from school to school.

Once again I must say Memorial would be the perfect place to get a mix of the qualifying scores to get into school's and the exposure.

I agree, he should have went there, in the first place, last year, and next season should definitely go to Memorial. He still has high profile D-1 potential, but he needs to realize that potential, and apply it. Memorial would be a fantastic spot for that, him, Tre and Vander would make a sick backcourt.

I think we can cross Bradley's name off the list of Bo's targets. (understatement) The stupidity shown here actually hurts my head:

Wauwatosa East High School athletes Larry Bradley and Barett Powell and Milwaukee Vincent High School athlete Dezmond Gosa were each charged in Milwaukee County Children's Court this afternoon with two counts of attempted armed robbery and one count of false imprisonment.

Might as well cross off Barett Powell as a WR target for the football team as well. I know he has visited UW a few times....and my guess is that he was potentially a preferred walk-on offer. Here is a quote regarding Powell:

Quote:
When officers responded to the house, they ordered the boy in the basement to come out. He was arrested in the front yard of the residence, where he immediately started crying and said his life was over because he was supposed to attend college on an athletic scholarship, which would likely be taken away.

Look for Rodriguez or Brewster to move in and offer soon

Well played sir.

Although for Brewster he'd have to prove his GPA was teetering close to 2.0 first. Committing armed robbery when he had a potentially bright future and asking the victim to withdraw money while he waited in the car is a good indication though.

My perception was Tosa East was squeaky clean before LB thugged it up. I'm hoping that Barrett Powell gets a 2nd chance because he was clearly influenced by that punk and lookout is not quite the same as the conspirators of the armed robbery. It's like driving around with your buddies when in mid cruise they all of a sudden decide they are going to rob a convenient store. That happened to a close acquiantance/fringe buddy of mine growing up. He was close to as clean cut as it got and no chance he'd conjure up that idea by himself. Still got sent to prison for it.

I wouldn't say that these are very comparable cases. Barrett Powell supplied the gun and according to the article, was told via a phone call with Bradley that he'd be the look-out and what was going down. So, he wasn't much of a victim in this situation. He knew full well what was going to happen and still made the decision to join Bradley and his friend....and even supplied the gun on top of that.

I'm not saying that I don't hope he gets a second chance if this truly was a situation where he fell in with a bad crowd, but he did commit these crimes knowing full well what he was doing.
