Despite what I said, I think Diamond was not the prospect I envisioned his as. That being said Gasser looks like a great prospect to get this late in the process.

Gasser carries a 3.58 grade-point average. He has volunteered with Special Olympics and as a youth basketball camp instructor, and has helped with an elementary school literacy outreach program, a groundskeeping effort at a local nature preserve and at a holiday gift-giving campaign for underprivileged children.

So yes, Gasser's grades and other extra activities earned him the award. I've never heard about Blue volunteering or having good grades.

If the award was for the most talented player, then Vander would win it. Outside of that Gasser lapped Vander this year.
