Listening to "Young Jeezy - Lets Get It/Sky is the Limit"

Anyway I have big hopes for Evans. If he dedicates himself he could be great - anyone with athleticism under Bo truly can be - so lets believe and hope he can reach that next level

I don't think you have to win anyone over. I'd say the mood/opinion on Evans across the board is optimistic, if a bit cautious for some.

I have never seen someone in my life transition from being mediocre 8th off the bench to being dominant. His biggest jump was obviously from sophomore to junior year. But yes there was an even bigger jump from Junior to Senior..
I'm still chuckling at how his biggest jump came before a bigger one. I think the best way to put it is that his body made the jump between sophomore and junior years (grew six inches) and his game made the jump between junior and senior years (to high-major caliber).

For me, when discussing Evans everything starts with his growth chart. 5'8" freshman year, 6'0" soph, 6'6" junior, and 1-2 more inches since then. Even if he had been a very good guard pre-growth spurt the growing would have thrown a wrench into his game (through mechanics, etc...). But to have engineered his game from scratch in only a year speaks volumes to his intensity and work ethic, and having a good coach doesn't hurt.

Quote:
Also, what games did you watch of his?
There's the one from his junior year in which the first five minutes are viewable from your browser, but to see the rest you have to download their media player (I did, it's safe). There's also the Rivals highlight reel made viewable for non-subscribers that I found. I've also seen a couple vidoes of how his season ended which I could probably dig back up. I will say that the phantom technical foul was one of the worst calls I've ever seen.

He looked about 6'71/2". He also looked a bit slim, He needs to put on some more muscle to develop into a D-1 forward. He was shooting around for a little bit at the end and he looked as athletic as his highlight reel show so thats a good sign.
Also, one other note it looks as if Leuer has been putting in more time in the weight room, he looked and played stronger.
One other thing pertaining to Krabbenhoft, wow I didnt know he was a 5 star recruit, was he a big scorer in high-school or somethin'?

BadgerBeat.com - UW men's basketball: Bulked-up Leuer impresses

Great Cap Times articles talking about how impressive Leuer has been adding weight and conditioning this summer. Also mentions Bergrenn as being a very hard worker and well conditioned for a big man. Finally, mentions Ryan Evans strong work ethic and his weight game over the summer due to conditioning and nutrition changes.

That just solidifies my confidence that Jon Leuer will be the Badger's starting center come November. Hell, he held his own in the post against Duke at 205. There's this misconception that you need to be 260 pounds to survive at center in the Big Ten. The Big Ten is not the NBA in terms of physical development, and even there some teams employ centers around 225-230 to gain a quickness advantage. People who projected Nankivil were thinking with too much rigidity. The goal is to put your best 5 players on the floor, within reason, and he's not near one of our 5 best returning from last season. He flat out looked lost on the floor.

I'm excited about this year's team and I think they will end up around the top 20 again.

Hey guys.....just read the Marcus Landry article about him being a father, husband, D-1 Bball player, and student.

Anyway, there is a pic gallery attached to the article. Check out the 2nd pic in the link below. Looks like Ryan Evan has really added a lot of muscle as reported in my last post.

ESPN: ZOOM Gallery

Also, if you haven't read the Landry article, you should.

Evans certainly looks the part now, but I'd be more interesting in learning about his: ball-handling, quicker released jumper, and first step. Without those attributes he's one of those raw, over-hyped Canadian "athletes" like Jevohn Shephard and Mo Joseph.
