According to an article from Rivals called "Best of the Best in IL for 2009", Chris Colvin is named the best defender. It says that he is great at staying in front of defenders and shutting down opposing offense. Also says that he is a great athlete and one of the strongest guards in his class. Finally, good rebounder for his size.
#40 on the rivals Hoops 100. On #23 ranked team in the nation according to ESPN.
The ESPN eval from November 2007 says that he is a great slasher, has good size for a point guard, and can shoot the ball well from 17 feet.
Does say that his downfalls are that he has a tendancy to shoot before pass and can sometimes dribble himself into trouble. Have also read posts that he is a very emotional player and this has gotten him into troubles at times. This may be why the Badgers are weary.
Have to say though....I like this kid and although we have Jordan coming on next year, Colvin would be a nice addition with his defensive skills and ball handling. In addition, with only 2 scholarships for 2010 and no true point guards seeming to be prospects/targets at this point, it makes sense to offer Colvin.

Here's the way I look at it. The senior class next year is Krabbs, Landry, and Gully. All 6'7". I'd like to see Bo bring in another forward to replace them (and Diamond would be replacing the original third member of that class, Micky Perry, if he was still here). In '09-10 the Badgers will have Pop, JBo, and JT to handle the ball. Like you said, there's currently no PG prospects for '10, but JT and Diamond can be the ball handlers that year. Ideally Bo would find a PG to compliment Evan Anderson in '10, but if that doesn't happen the Badgers should be fine with JT and Diamond handling the ball again in '11. In that case I see Bo bringing in a PG and SG in both '11 and '12 (four scholarships open both years).

Reason: kept saying Wilson when I meant Diamond

I still think we are going to have to get another ball handler. Wilson is known as a passer and slasher, not so much as a handler. He had Tay Jones running the show in GH, so I wouldn't expect or want to have him be a handler. With Taylor now on board I would think that he would be the expected second ballhandler in 2010.

You're right, that should say Jordan and Diamond Taylor as the ball handlers in 2010 and 2011, and that Diamond would be replacing Micky. Thanks for catching that.

Reason: forgot to add it should be Taylor as replacing Perry, not Wilson
