Got a little info for everyone on this one. Supposedly Lechner's grades might not be college ready and he has to put in some time in the classroom. This might have caused UW to turn down his commitment for the near term.
This could also mean that Frederick was offered in conjunction with Lechner, not Harris, but I still think his future with the team is best served on the DL. Going to be tough for him to find time at guard behind Zeitler and Schafer, among others.

"I didn't think it was a big deal, the de-commitment," former Gopher verbal David Gilreath said. "I think this was the best decision of my life."
"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."

That means the door is wide open for Qvale. Come on down!
I'd lick to see him become our 3rd and final offensive line commit (unless Watt gives the gift of his services) and Frederick begin as a D-Tackle.

Agreed Qvale seems like a ridiculous athlete/beast. It is also telling that Matthias and Kohout seem to really like him and were showing him a lot of positive attention at camp. There is a rivals article talking about how they were very impressed with Qvale's camp. I will try and find the link.

My guess would be that Wisconsin actually offered back in February, he got complacent because he thought football would be his ticket and as a result struggled academically, but he committed this week on the previous agreement, not communicating with the staff that the situation had changed. We are in good standing with a lot of solid linemen, so we aren't pressured to take any academic risks at the position. Maybe if he were an equally talented safety or DT, our philosophy would be a bit different.

OW, Jordan told me that Qvale's a beast and I believe they hung out quite a bit at camp. I hope I'm not betraying his trust by divulging that information, but I don't see how I am considering it's a positive comment about another player and not a negative. Jordan said he's not one to recruit other players himself, though. If he's showing him attention, I assume he has no other agenda but they get along well.

By Wallace...doesn't go in to much detail but says he is no longer committed to Wisconsin (it appears admissions may have been the issue). Still looking at Wisconsin, Iowa, Iowa State, Ohio State, Kansas and Oklahoma.

He recently took the ACT again and is awaiting his results....If he passes this time and meets the academic qualifications will that Wisconsin offer still be there? and if it is do you all think that he will commit back to the Badgers?

Wisconsin took commitments from two offensive linemen, Casey Dehn (OT) and Travis Frederick (OG), shortly after. Therefore it's difficult to say. Wisconsin has continued to recruit a couple highly rated OT recruits, Chris Freeman and Taylor Lewan, so maybe. Offensive line is a luxury right now, not a need, so I think it depends on the quality of recruit available at other positions. That's how a rational coach would approach the situation.

I would think, but he did say that he was moving on from that but if we offered again I wouldn't be surprised(although I dought we take another O-linemen with players like Emillen, Mcdougal, and Appleton still on the board.)
