Wow

It looks like this kid came out of nowhere, I can't recall hearing about this kid at all before this recent news. Very athletic looking player, impressive. Hey Bern, I couldn't find the highlights you made for the 2008 class, could you give me the link?

Yeah, I had never heard of him either. Marlins didn't even have him rated in his top 50 prospects in Wisconsin....but he was in the honorable mention portion. It's tough to find information about him anywhere on the net. I guess that's what happens when you play in a small Wisconsin town and high school which receives little media coverage to speak of. After he performed well at Badger camp in the summer, UW must have kept his recruitment on the hush until it was shown they absolutely had to offer him. I still haven't seen enough to have an opinion one way or another on Garner. Phil Fritz is prone to hyperbole when it comes to players who commit to the Badgers.

The Wisconsin Badger commitment video mix is sticked to the top of this forum, Jordan.

Is he on scholarship?

"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."

He was on Wisconsin's list of scholarship players during signing day. Then there was a separate list for preferred walk-ons, so he's officially a scholarship player.
