Brandon says he grew up as a Michigan fan but is wide open. He loves WVU's style of play.

From the UM site...mostly about his interest in Michigan and his thinking he will still play safety in college. Will take all 5 visits.

Brandon says Michigan and Rutgers have a solid lead but he will not announce until the Army game or NLOID. He would also like to visit Iowa.

In addition to the report being a reason for pessism in this player's case, the Badgers should be stocked at safety by the time Smith plans to decide (have 2-3 already and have offered many more); so put him in the long shot category.

Brandon was high school teammates, and still communicates with, Jonathan Casillas, Badgers LB.
Smith has said he will definitely visit the Wolverines and the Badgers. If we get a guy on campus, we have a shot. Step one is getting the prospect to see our facilities, awesome college town, and fan/school enthusiasm for the sport.
Bring him in for the Iowa night game this fall.
He lists five, but I think it will come down to home-state Rutgers, Michigan and Wisco.

Brandon discusses his leaders and will not make an early decision.

Local paper says he's leaning towards... Tennessee?
Not sure how credible this is. I think this must be a mistake, but just passing it along.

Given what I know, I'm gonna go ahead and chalk this one up as an uninformed writer's mistake. I've been following Smith's recruitment pretty closely and I would be surprised if Tennessee suddenly jumped to the top of the list when he wasn't even in the top five before. That would be coming out of left field.
I still say Rutgers, Michigan, or Wisconsin.

With the bad guys being the much stronger possibilities.
Do you know why Brandon Green is completely disinterested in Wisconsin Mike? It doesn't make much sense with his list.

Maybe this can explain the whole Tennessee leader deal...
Scout.com: Brandon Smith re-opens his recruitment
I'm not a scout subscriber, but from the blurb it appears his recruitment has opened back up beyond his previous top-five.
Bern, I didn't know Green was completely disinterested in us. Last I read he was still completely open.

From the Rutgers site...previous top 5 was Rutgers, Michigan, Wisconsin, Louisville and North Carolina State. South Carolina has offered on both sides of the ball and now he is looking at other schools. Has visits scheduled to Wisconsin and Michigan.
No mention of Tennessee...FWIW.
