Wt: 265 lbs
Forty: 4.9 secs

Squat max: 385 pounds

Stats: 88 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 3 ff

Quote:
He is just what the Badgers have been looking for to beef up their paper-thin defensive line. Briedis has long arms with good hands, and uses his intelligence to accurately read what the offense is doing and make good decisions. He is the prototypical stopper.

Actually looks like an SSDE to me, which we could use. He doesn't use enough leverage to play inside IMO. But he's nasty, and agile/strong enough to make quick adjustments with his feet outside in order to keep contain. Also, quick enough off the ball to provide an occasional pass rush.

I officially think we now have plenty spent on the defensive line. We have four projected DE's and now 3 projected DT's.

I think Cromartie is gone, so we should still have a schollie for Cooper

After watching film, I came away impressed. Has very good speed for a player his size. Was on a poor team so received little exposure.

Briedis has good size and speed, measuring up at 6-foot-5, 265 pounds and running the 40-yard dash in 4.9 seconds, very good for a player his size. Coaches in Florida believe he has the potential to get much bigger. An exceptional student, he has a 3.5 grade-point average in a tough academic system.

Catching up with Eriks...talks about where the coaches see him contributing and how he has been hitting the gym to get stronger and faster. Talks about how Coach Doeren recruited him and talks about being excited to meet fellow FL players Anthony Mains and Kevin Claxton.
