FVSports - The Elite100: Class of 2010
Quote:
2. Seantrel Henderson
6'8" / 300 pounds / Offensive Tackle / Cretin-Derham Hall / St. Paul, Minnesota
Contenders: Notre Dame, Ohio State, Florida, Minnesota, USC
Scouting Report: One of the best HS offensive linemen this decade. Physical attributes are obvious. Carries his weight extremely well. Great wingspan and uses it to his advantage. What separates Henderson from his peers is how he moves on the field. A skilled basketball player who brings that athleticism to football. Has lateral quickness and body control that is rare is for a 300-pounder at any level. Great knee bend, essential considering his height. As far as pass protection goes, Henderson is as good as it gets. Great run blocker, but probably won't be dominant at the next two levels, needs to develop an edge. More of a finesse lineman in both attitude and technique. In terms of potential comparisons, more Walter Jones than Orlando Pace.

Rivals$-- Henderson will take his time
Seantrel says he is mainly focusing on Oklahoma, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Florida, Ohio State, and Wisconsin and says Minnesota is the only school he will guarantee in his top 5.

After being strung along by the so called elite prospects the last few years, at least out of state, the Badgers should shift their philosophy towards locating numerous mid level high major prospects (more in the northeast of course), offering all the ones they have the greatest affinity for, and accepting those who are first to commit. On a smaller scale (because of massive difference in scholarship allotments of course), that's what Bo Ryan currently does. And more or less that's what Barry formerly did. BB is fooling himself into believing he'll land top flite prospects from around the nation in the interim of his tenure, but really all it's accomplishing is leaving us out in the cold later in the process when they inevitably go elsewhere, forcing the program to scramble for adequate replacements. He might need to build his own reputation, separate from BA, until that strategy will finally pay dividends. Move up the ladder, starting at the top rung is unrealistic.

Bo and BB's recruiting are not even comparable lately if Bo really wants a player he gets them.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Henderson's rare talent draws coaches north (free)
Quote:
"Our last high-profile athlete was [Notre Dame freshman wide receiver] Michael Floyd," Scanlan says. "[Ohio State coach] Jim Tressel never found a way to our building when they recruited Michael Floyd, and they wanted him badly. Tressel has found a way to get here. I've got a feeling we'll see [UCLA coach] Rick Neuheisel.
"The only time we saw [USC coach] Pete Carroll was when they were recruiting [current Denver Broncos starting offensive tackle] Ryan Harris. That would be the litmus test."

He said he's always liked Notre Dame. He likes Minnesota, too. He said he's interested in Florida, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Iowa, USC and Texas Tech, even though he didn't know where Lubbock was.

From the Iowa site...talks about the visit he made a few weeks ago to Iowa...plans to cut his list to 10-15 by next football season...will eventually cut his list to five and will take his officials.

Good to see he still is at least considering Wisconsin, if we landed him I'd be ecstatic beyond belief, but I'm not counting on it by any means.
