During the 5A Championship game, Bingham stunned the Alta Hawks 17-3 in the first quarter, according to ESPN.com. The game was played late 2008.
A’i dominated defense and led his team to restrict Bingham from extending their lead. As his offense worked their magic, A’i sacked the quarterback twice to send Bingham a message to surrender.
After Alta came back and took the lead 27-19 in the last minute of the game, A’i damaged any chances of a Bingham comeback with a final sack and fumble to finish the game.

Ho Ching has a good relationship with his recruiting coach from Wisconsin, Dave Doeren. He's flattered by the offer, but playing close to his family appears to be a major factor. His coach believes BYU and Utah offers are imminent, which would afford him that opportunity.

Ho Ching talks about having a passion for football growing up even though he was living in Samoa. As far as schools of interest go, Wisconsin is the favorite of those which have offered. Claims distance won't be a factor in his decision. However, he's highly motivated to get in-state offer(s) from Utah and/or BYU.

From Badgerblitz, Toloa'i says he will take an official visit to Madison in the fall. Talks about his relationship with Dave Doren. Also says distance is not a factor (a contradiction from earlier statements)

blogs.sltrib.com - The Recruiting Trail by Jay Drew & Lya Wodraska

From a few weeks ago, but contains a lot of information that would be new to most here. Stanford offered, so UW no longer has the niche of being the only BCS program to offer him. And UCLA and Washington State have orally offered, so they could make 4 a crowd. Intends on taking all five officials before committing, so whoever will land him must be patient.

One of the state's most-recruited high school football players this year, Alta High linebacker Toloa'i Ho-Ching, says he is in no hurry to pick a college even though some of his favorite schools -- such as BYU -- are close to running out of scholarships.
"I don't really have a deadline," Ho-Ching said. "Me and my dad and my grandpa have to pray about it, and then I will probably decide."
Scout.com recently came out with its list of the top 150 high school seniors in the West, and Ho-Ching is No. 89.
Wednesday night, Ho-Ching said he is 6-1 and weighs between 215 and 220 pounds.
The all-stater said he has official, written offers from Wyoming, Wisconsin, Utah State and BYU and that a handful of other schools are close to offering but want to watch him play a few games this season.
Schools on that list include Stanford, UCLA and Penn State, he said.
He has already set up one official visit. Ho-Ching said he will go to Wisconsin on Sept. 5 to watch the Badgers play Northern Illinois.
He said his top three schools right now are BYU, Wisconsin and Stanford and that Wisconsin seems to be recruiting him the hardest.
He said he has grown up a BYU fan and likes the school partly because his parents both went there.
And he has already qualified academically for most schools, with a 3.7 GPA and a passing score on the ACT test.

ksl.com - Ho-Ching pushing Alta on and off the field (link includes feature video on Ho Ching)
Quote:
The Alta Hawks are once again loaded with talented players as they attempt to defend another 5A state title. All those talented players look up to their captain, senior linebacker Toloa'i Ho-Ching.
He sets the tone for this powerhouse program on and off the field.
"He flies, dude," says Alta quarterback Jordan Brown. "He gets to the ball so quick. Hits hard, lays the wood on you, he's just tough. Great player, great player."
As a junior, he established himself as one of the top defenders in the state. His intensity and passion on the field has earned him scholarship offers from a number of schools including Wisconsin and BYU. Scout.com rates him as the fifth best high school player in the Northwest.
I love the game," says Ho-Ching. "People tell you 'football is a lot like life' and a lot of people shrug it off. I take it serious, I really do. I hope I can go far in it and it's taught me a lot. It's taught me how to work hard, set goals for myself, and I can achieve them. I know I can achieve them."
But it's more than just his play that gets the attention of his teammates and coaches.
"What's most impressive about A'i is, obviously, he's a great football player. But it's off the field that impresses me so much about him," says Alta Head Football Coach Les Hamilton. "His work ethic in the classroom, his work ethic in the weight room, his leadership amongst his peers, he's a great kid, hard working, dedicated and one heck of a football player."
For A'i, football is in his blood. His uncle Spencer Reid played at BYU from 1994-97 and spent time in the NFL. His uncle Gabriel Reid played at BYU from 1999-2002 and played in Super Bowl XLI with the Chicago Bears. He has a number of other relatives who have gone on to play football at the next level.
"I've gotta give it up for my family," A'i says. "They've always been there for me. They sacrifice a lot and they spoil me, kind of. I'm like a spoiled brat. I don't know why. I love them a lot."
His family has also stressed education. A'i has a 3.85 grade point average.
"I can't play if I don't get straight A's," he says. "My parents set that rule a long time ago so I've focused on my academics too."
Ho-Ching is surrounded by a ton of talent. Offensive lineman Jordan Black is committed to BYU. Fellow linebacker Parker Hausknecht is headed to Utah State and those are just the players who have division one offers before the season. With a loaded roster, Toloa'i hopes to lead his team to a third consecutive 5A state title.
"It would be great," he says. "It would be fun to play in the championship game again knowing it's your senior year going out with a bang. That's what our goal is now and hopefully we can achieve it."

Scout.com: Positive Marks from Ho Ching
9/9
Liked everything about his visit to UW. Insists distance won't be a factor again. Has a top 5 of BYU, Wisconsin, Stanford, Utah, and UCLA. Wisconsin is recruiting him the hardest. No timetable.
