Junior defensive back Sean Parker (Harbor City, Calif./Narbonne) picked up another scholarship offer earlier today. Parker is an elite safety prospect and a member of the 2010 ESPNU 150 Watch List.
"Arizona State just offered him," Narbonne recruiting coordinator Byron Moore Sr. said. "Oregon State told me they're about to offer him too. Michigan, Colorado, Stanford and Arizona have offered and you can expect just about every major program to offer him in the spring and summer."
Parker plays alongside USC safety commit Byron Moore Jr. to form a great safety tandem. Whereas Moore has the better cover skills and could play corner in college, Parker is a headhunter and a fierce hitter.
On the year, he has 31 tackles and three interceptions, two of which he returned for scores. Parker camped with UCLA last summer and will likely camp with USC this coming summer.

Will elite Cali junior leave the state?
A week ago, we reported Narbonne (Harbor City, Calif.) defensive back Sean Parker picked up another early scholarship offer from Arizona State. Colorado and Stanford have offered as well, along with verbal offers from Michigan and Arizona.
Before it's all said and done, expect Parker to have offers from national programs all over the country and be mentioned as one of the top safety prospects in the nation.
With his best friend and teammate Byron Moore headed to USC next year, one would think the Trojans have the inside track on Parker, but that may not be the case.
"To be honest, I actually want to leave the state," Parker said. "I've lived here my whole life and I think it would be fun and good for me to go out and experience something new.
"I would love to hear from programs like Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida and Notre Dame. I also like the Pac-10 programs like Oregon State, Arizona and Arizona State, but really I'm open to anyone right now."
As far as what he's looking for in a school, Parker, a 3.3 (GPA) student, said academics will play a big role.
"The most important thing for me is academics right now," Parker said. "I know you can't play football forever and you're always one injury away from not playing, so I want to pick a school that has a strong academic reputation.
"I'm also looking for an environment that I'll be comfortable in as well as a family atmosphere where I'll fit in well with the coaches and players. Playing early would be cool too but I don't mind red-shirting if I have to."

WR Ambles excited by USC offer - ESPN
Quote:
Notre Dame has a chance to do some big things recruiting in California next year. The Irish already have a commitment from Chris Martin, arguably the top defensive player in the West next year, lead for two-way athlete Anthony Barr and are also looking good for talented defensive back Sean Parker (Harbor City, Calif./ Narbonne).
Parker could be the top safety in the state next year. He totaled 68 tackles and six picks to earn first team all-city, all-area and first team all-state underclass by CalHiSports.com
He combined this past season with USC signee Byron Moore to form a tremendous defensive backfield and is already closing in on double digit scholarship offers.
"I have nice offers right now," Parker said. "Notre Dame is the most recent school to offer and that was a big one. I also have offers from Stanford, Colorado, Arizona State, Oregon, Minnesota and Washington State."
Parker has always said he wanted to leave the area to play his college ball but he does have a couple of in-state schools in his top five.
"Notre Dame is my top school right now followed by Stanford, USC, Florida and Oregon," Parker said. "That's my top five right now but it's early and I plan to go through the recruiting process and take my visits before I commit anywhere."
Parker is carrying a 3.8 GPA and said he plans to major in Business in college. He'll attend the NIKE Camp at USC in April.

ESPN.com - RB Briggs picking up early offers
2/23
Quote:
Will Parker stay local or leave the state?
It's going to be an interesting recruitment for defensive back Sean Parker (Harbor City, Calif./ Narbonne). Parker said he always planned to go away for college but he has now opened the door to possibly staying local to play his college ball.
Parker, arguably the top safety in the West this year, is picking up new offers by the day. USC offered last Friday and that followed recent offers from Penn State, and Georgia. Notre Dame, Michigan, Cal, Stanford, Arizona, Oregon and Colorado are just a few others that have offered.
Parker attended the Trojans Junior Day over the weekend and said he's definitely going to give USC a strong look. "I'm definitely open to playing close to home now," Parker said. "It's not just USC though, I like Cal and Stanford too. UCLA is the only in-state school that hasn't offered and I would be interested in them as well but I do like USC a lot. "Just being around the players and coaches on Saturday was incredible. They have so much energy and you get fired up being around them. They have a great football program and who wouldn't want to be a part of a team like that.
I'm going to take my trips but right now, I would say it's 50-50 if I stay in-state and before it was more like 90-10." Parker said he doesn't think he'll use an official visit on USC since it's so close and said three schools will for sure get visits at this time. "Stanford, Notre Dame and Penn State, I'll visit those three," Parker said. " I don't think I'll take more than that because I'm doing basketball and the visits can get tiring but I know I want to check out those three for sure and then I'll just go from there."
