I think your read is a little off on this one.
Recruiting a player heavily only goes so far. It is true if you give some respect, you get it, but ultimately if you don't have the goods to a player then you can't seal the deal. We should know that all too well as Badgers' fans.
And anyways in the previous feature on Rivals to where he relayed that Iowa was recruiting him the hardest, it was MSU, BC, and USF who received that distinction. I think who is recruiting him the hardest in that interview is dependent upon whom he most recently talked to.
Also, it was speculation on the writer's part to prompt a title of "one (Iowa) stands out for white". White's never quoted as saying anything close to that. It just seemed like the writer was reaching for some storyline. Iowa was left out of some of his most recent updates just like Wisconsin.
I think the Badgers have just as good of a chance as Iowa, if not better.

I think we have a pretty good chance too. The kid has been all over this summer and it's been a while since he was in Madison, but I think it's a good sign that we're one of his favorites. His former teammates don't hurt our chances either.

Going off everything I know, I still say there is at least a 90% chance he goes to Iowa. With that said, its recruiting, which is slightly easier to figure out then women, so in essence no one really knows.

White impressed with Clemson > Palmetto Sports Recruiting News
RB James White (5-10 196) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL has plenty of offers and says he has only eliminated three teams from his list. "I'm going to start trying to narrow my list," he said. "I don't have any favorites but the schools that have impressed me the most are Wisconsin, Iowa, and Clemson." White says there is a good chance Clemson could get one of his officials and already has set one of them up. "I'm going to take an official visit to Wisconsin for their opening weekend. They play Northern Illinois," said White. White says he visited eleven schools this summer and but did not visit Clemson. " I visited them last summer so I didn't need to go back." He has offers from Clemson, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tulane, Princeton, Rutgers, NC State, Michigan State, South Florida, Louisville, Syracuse, Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, and recently picked up an offer from Kentucky. White did not say which teams he has eliminated.
except to Wisconsin.......
Update from Scout Also:8/17
Also visiting Iowa on September 19th. The Hawkeyes are still recruiting White the hardest. Other officials will be to NC St. and Michigan St. Likes UW's history of backs and playing with former teammates would be added bonus. Wants to wait until after the season to decide because things could occur during to change his mind.

James is extremley excited about visiting Madison, with teammate Vinnie Mauro. Is looking forward to seeing the atmosphere and talking to his former teammates Dez Southward and Conner O'Neil.

We should be going after 4 or 5 STA players EVERY year.

Totally agree. I just sped through the game on DVR, and it was hard to differentiate who the high major D1 prospects were or weren't on St. Thomas Aquinas. They pretty much all looked good to me. Made me question my evaluation skills a little bit upon watching high school players whose prospects I weren't aware of - until I found out just about all of them had impressive offer lists. Their skill players have a ton of speed.
I especially liked the junior wide receivers Rashad Greene and Phillip Dorsett. Green has good size, good speed, fluid, and reacts quickly to balls thrown his way. One play stood out to me that he made; when an errant pass was thrown in his direction and he reacted very quickly diving to the ground and picking it off the dirt. Dorsett just made defenders look silly on the timing of his cuts and ability to shift on a dime. With his hips I'm sure he'd play cornerback well also. Brett should extend them both offers.
As for White's performance, my reaction was kind of like, "meh". The guy has tremendous giddy up and shiftiness. He can really jump cut through a hole. But what I didn't like was the fact that he had the tendency to bounce plays to the outside too frequently. I understood why when I watched him run inside. Not a very physical runner unlike Bernard, who at about the same weight, was repeatedly trucking defenders. That guy has it all - if there are about 20 Floridians better than that kid in that class like soflafootball and many other sites assert, then I'll cannibalize myself. He's got to be top 10 or so in America....I think he's going to be an elite player at the next level. But I digress....I still maintain I'd take McConico and Settle over White. They are much more complete backs. Not that I wouldn't be pleased to hear J-White committed to Bucky. At Wisconsin we're more in the position of beggars than choosers.
BTW, White was ranked the 13 best recruit in Broward by the Sun Sentinel, where he was also profiled.

Palmetto Sports
RB James White (5-10 196) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL has already scheduled two of his officials and says Clemson he will probably go to Clemson as well. White likes the way they utilize their backs. "They do a good job of getting the ball to their running backs in different ways," he said. "They hand it off, they throw to them and move them around." White will visit Wisconsin this weekend and Iowa on September 16. He says his top four are Clemson, Wisconsin, Iowa, and NC State. White has visited Clemson before when he camped there two summers ago. "It's different than Florida," said White. "Their fans are crazy about football. I think that's pretty cool." White did not name a favorite and says he is still wide open. His offers include Clemson, Wisconsin, Iowa, NC State, Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, South Florida, Rutgers, and Boston College.

Thought it was a great trip....hung out with many of his old and current STA teammates....enjoyed the atmosphere....thought his skills would fit the Badgers' system...Wisconsin still in top 5. Keeping his recruitment close to the vest still so hard to gauge UW's prospects from that interview.

Visited Iowa this past weekend. He seemed to like it, but it didn't jump off the charts or anything. This is just my take from reading quotes and text, but I think the UW visit went better, and I think he really liked having Conor and Dez on the team.
Still no leaders, and still will take all five

-RB James White will visit NC State when they host North Carolina Nov. 28. White's other visits were Iowa and Wisconsin. Iowa is full at RB, and White admitted his timeline to make a decision is moving up with a lot of his offers being pulled due to other RB commitments.
