Wisconsin High School Basketball - Boys / Youth Basketball - Boys
About the Marquette offer.
Also states the Badgers have a high interest in Mason as a Wide Receiver.
Crean just fires offers out left and right. That is why he is over committed for next year and will continue to be in future years.

Named as one of 5 area players to watch, and is the only sophomore on the list.
5 Area Players to Watch
Marquis Mason, Madison East, 6-5, so., forward, 17 ppg, 9 rpg
An electrifying and dazzling two-year starter with tremendous inside skills, Mason earned 2007 All-Big Eight Conference and TCT All-Area second-team honors. He scored 37 points in the Purgolders' 60-43 win over Eau Claire Memorial Nov. 24.

Senior forward Darnell Small led the defensive effort that kept Madison East's top offensive player, sophomore Marquis Mason, in check. Flanked by the physical Small and a smothering help-side defense that would swarm Mason anytime he got his hands on the ball, Mason finished with nine points, half his season average coming into this game.

A sophomore is expected to have his ups and downs. Looks like he is definitely on opposing teams maps already.

He looked good in that video. The last couple dunks they showed were great, and I liked the fact that he helped the guy he fouled on the three back up.

Sounds like Crean has been a busy boy the last few weeks, calling his MU commits and targets before telling his own players and administration, calling Jamil Wilson while he knew he was in class, having legendary NJ high school coach Bob Hurley trash Buzz Williams in the press to steal MU's recruits, etc.
I haven't seen Mason so I can only go on what I read, but he sounds like a good player and I hope he, or any other WI recruit that doesn't choose UW, goes anywhere but Indiana. Having this slime bag get recruits from our state would really hurt.

Mason got a UW-Milwaukee offer:
Wisconsin High School Basketball - Boys / Youth Basketball - Boys
Also, it is being reported that Mason will play football this coming season, so this should help Bielema evaluate him at WR.
It would be nice to get him on football scholarship and a walk-on for basketball. Unfortunately, sources say that his grades are a major concern at this point.

WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL
10/1
Reports that he committed to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to play basketball were premature. His transition from basketball to football at Madison East has been seamless. He's caught 34 passes for 547 yards through 5 games and is beginning to realize a brighter future may exist for him catching an oblong pigskin than bouncing a spherical leather ball. He's receiving interest from Wisconsin and Purdue to play to do the former.

Pretty much the same article. Previously was 100 percent devoted to playing basketball at the next level but now is torn. Not afraid of contact after making the sport switch.
