Alright, thanks for the help fellas. I made the necessary corrections.

I think from the first weekend we only net one new commitment maximum, at least in the interim, regardless what transpires in the game. Appleton, Hageman, O'Neill, and Hageman don't appear to be ready to decide yet. Although Appleton has been very unpredictable throughout his recruitment. Taylor could be slow played by the staff if they actually were trying to procure a packaged deal with Marcus Trice originally and also feel optimistic about their chances with Emilien. In regards to Chris Freeman, the fact that he's traveling here on his own dime is legitimate reason for encouragement.

The second week is where we could really do some damage. DeCicco was supposed to decide before the season originally and he's basically been down to two schools for months. Denicos Allen is also down to two schools and Wes proclaimed we were the favorite. Emilien has some urgency since he's graduating early and Wes said we were also the favorite here. Jenkins only scheduled only one visit and it was Wisconsin - an indicator of strong interest in the program sight unseen. He reminds me a lot of Aaron Henry, who fell in love with Madison after he visited. Winning will be paramount obviously to make the atmosphere more exciting and turn the momentum of the program in a positive direction. If we do, I wouldn't be surprised if three recruits commit soon after the PSU game.

They will also be hosting 2011 guard Spencer Turner from Indiana and 2011 forward Paul Jesperson from Merill, WI.

Wisconsin lost a heartbreaker to Ohio State Saturday night 20-17 as the Buckeyes scored the game-winning touchdown with just more than a minute to play. However, the loss did not seem to damper the weekend for the prospects making official visits to UW.

Tight end Ra'Shede Hageman (Minneapolis/Washburn) was one of those prospects and was among the 80,000 plus fans in attendance at the game.

"It was cool," Hageman said. "Even though they lost to Ohio State, they have a great tight end program. They pretty much convinced me their tight end program is the strongest of the schools I'm looking at."

In addition to Wisconsin, Hageman has three other schools on his list. He has official visits set to Ohio State Oct. 11 when the Buckeyes play Purdue and Minnesota Nov. 8 when the Gophers play Michigan. Hageman also plans to schedule an official visit to Florida.

Hageman liked more than just the way the tight end is incorporated in the Wisconsin offense.

"Their facilities and the academics are top level," Hageman said. "The fans were great. The environment was good to be in. I got a tour and everything was pretty cool."

The 6-foot-5, 252-pound Hageman said Minnesota continues to have one advantage: it is his home-state school.

"I'd say Minnesota has an edge," Hageman said. "They beat Indiana Saturday. That's a plus. They're doing well."

Defensive end Pat Muldoon (Cincinnati/St. Xavier) also liked what he saw in Camp Randall Stadium Saturday night.

"I liked it a lot," Muldoon said. "I really liked the atmosphere at the game and the coaches and the players. I had been there before, but this time I saw more of what it is like to be a player on the team."

The 6-4, 240-pound Muldoon made an official visit to Boston College in early September. He plans to schedule a trip to Virginia, though he is not sure when it will be, and might also visit Cincinnati and Duke.

"I don't have a favorite," Muldoon said. "I'm still trying to figure everything out."

Another Ohioan in Madison over the weekend on an official visit was defensive end Davon Custis (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales). Custis said late Sunday night that his visit to Wisconsin went very well, but he still plans to make official visits to Northwestern, Stanford and Notre Dame before selecting a college. He won't make his trip to Stanford until sometime in January, so it will be quite a while before Custis selects a college.

It won't be as long until linebacker Conor O'Neill (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) makes his decision. After making an official visit to Wisconsin this past weekend, O'Neill has taken trips to Madison, Clemson and Auburn. He has narrowed things down to those three schools and will likely make his decision before the end of October.

Two talented wide receivers, Kraig Appleton (East St. Louis, Ill.) and Stedman Bailey (Miramar, Fla.), were also in Madison over the weekend. Neither has selected a college to this point, but it is not going to be easy for Wisconsin or anyone else to beat out Illinois for the services of Appleton.

I didn't expect a recruiting avalanche regardless of outcome like previously mentioned, but it is disappointing to hear most recruits were pretty luke warm about the experience relative to normal. Rarely do you hear a recruit give a negative report about a visit so saying it went very well isn't very inspiring by itself. I think we missed a big opportunity because of the game's outcome and band not being present.....whether any of them acknowledge it or not. At least it appears we made a strong impression on O'Neill and he could be on the verge.

Once again, next weekend is more promising for instant recruiting results, IMO, but we MUST win. The crowd could improve our chances of that occurring by leading the "We Want Clay" chants.

I hope Hawthorne decides to visit for the Penn St. game he seems like a better overall player then Appleton.
