One of the fastest rising Class of 2010 prospects in the state of Ohio is tight end Alex Smith (West Chester/Lakota West). The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Smith recently landed scholarship offers from Indiana and Cincinnati. He attended the Penn State at Ohio State game Saturday, and other schools Smith is interested in include Kentucky, where he has family, Michigan State and Pitt.

By C Smith. Michigan, Tennesse, Duke and West Virginia are among Smith's newest offers. He will take as many visits as he can, and would like to have his choice made by the start of his senior season.

Rodriguez offers Ohio tight end
Tight end Alex Smith (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) has added a big scholarship offer to his list since National Signing Day. The 6-foot-4 and 225-pound Smith's latest offer has come from Michigan Coach Rich Rodriguez.
In addition to Michigan, Smith also has offers from West Virginia, Illinois, Purdue, Kentucky, Indiana and Cincinnati.
Smith caught 33 passes and had six touchdowns during his junior season. He is a talented all-around athlete who is also a starter on the Lakota West basketball team.
Smith attended football games at Ohio State, Cincinnati, Indiana, Pitt and Kentucky this past season. In fact he attended three Wildcat games.
"I've always been a Kentucky fan," Smith said. "I have a lot of family in Kentucky."
However, as the offers come in, Smith wants to look at all of his options.
