I never even realized that this kid was on our radar. I am completely blown away by the amount of offensive linemen we are taking this cycle. It definitely makes you think that the coaching staff is not holding their breath on Lechner getting things straightened out. Also makes you wonder about Qvale....I wonder if they are aware that Qvale does not intend on being a Badger or if perhaps they project some of these guys at other positions? Another thought is perhaps some of the current offensive linemen on the team may not be returning (grade issues perhaps? no idea) b/c we are definitely not recruiting like we have a small class. Thoughts?

alot of those o-lineman may switch to the other side(Fredrick stands out to me)I dont believe we will take anymore Oline/DT's this year so we still have ruffly 10-11 scholarships avaliable so there is still plenty of room left in this class.

I think what it means is Bielema cannot resist sticking it to Brewster and the Goofs whenever possible. Frederick and maybe another of the "O-Linemen" project to defensive tackle. We'll probably take about 4 offensive linemen. And classes are nowhere near as small as they initially appear.

Dehn Commits to Badgers

6/27
by Ian Stauffer

Quote:
OWATONNA — Casey Dehn is heading back to his home state.

Dehn told the People’s Press on Friday in a text message that he has verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin-Madison to play football. He was not immediately available for comment.

The Owatonna senior-to-be was offered a full scholarship to play at the University of Minnesota last week, but declined to make a decision until after he attended a camp at Wisconsin on June 22-24.

A 6-foot-6, 250-pound offensive lineman, Dehn was a powerful force for the Owatonna football team last season. He started all 11 games at right tackle and was the lead blocker on a majority of the Huskies’ running plays.

Dehn’s family is deeply rooted in the Badger State. His older sister Samantha and older brother Rob both throw for the Wisconsin track and field team and his father Bill played basketball at Wisconsin-Oshkosh for four years.

Dehn said last week he would like to throw wherever he goes to college. Earlier this month, he won gold medals at the Class 2A State Track & Field Meet in both the discus and shot put. He was the first Owatonna athlete to win two state titles in one year in more than 50 years.

Despite reports, Dehn has not decided on Gophers on Owatonna

Good article on Dehn. A triple sport athlete: track, wrestling, and football

Dehn will also throw track & field in college. His older brother and sister throw for Wisconsin as well.

Talks about how wrestling has made him lose weight. I was wondering why he was only 250.
