Quote:
Wozniak is a good tight end prospect. Possesses good size and the frame to add more good bulk when he gets into a college weight program. Has the ability to be a productive in-line blocker. Makes good initial contact. Gets solid hand placement, but will flash the ability to get leverage with his hands and when he does that he can be tough to beat. Displays the ability to move his feet on contact and maintains a good base. Plays with solid pad level, but can get overextended and needs to generate more power from his lower body and get more into the defender. Can block down and seal and displays good tenaciousness. Does an adequate job of being able to step and reach a defender. Can flex out from the formation and is a solid blocker in space. Will stay under control and can adjust to moving targets. While a productive blocker he can also be a solid receiver. Needs to build speed as he goes, but can be a factor in the intermediate passing game. Runs adequate routes. Displays good hands and the ability to consistently catch the ball away from his body. Has adequate elusiveness, but will not make many defenders at the college level miss with the ball in his hands. Wozniak is a good prospect with some upside. Has the tools to develop into a good productive tight end at the college level.

By Bill Kurelic...Was told he was next in line if Sims and Hageman decide to go elsewhere. Has around 15 offers and his top 5 are Louisville, Connecticut, Maryland, UC, and Miami (OH).

Commits to UW over offers from Louisville, Cincinnati, Maryland, and others

"(The University of Minnesota) didn't really compare," UW Kicker Taylor Mehlhaff said. "I loved the atmosphere here. It was pretty easy to cross (Minnesota) off the list. I wanted to play at the highest level possible but I also wanted to have that college atmosphere."

To be honest, I know little about this guy as of now. He seems to have a fairly impressive offer list, and OSU seemed close to offering. I'm sure we will have more on him soon.

I still think that we would take a commitment from Hageman or DeCicco, but this could mean the end for Juckem unfortunately

It might. Bad luck with the concussion.

I thought there was a good chance we'd take 2 TE's this class, so I agree Hageman and Decicco are still in play. We didn't take any TE's in 2007, Davison doesn't impress me in 2008, and I think Byrne could end up on the defensive line.

Agreed with Bernini.....we would still take a verbal from either Hageman or Decicco.....and were probably planning on this all along. Two tight ends is reasonable and actually something you would expect given Chryst's love of utilizing the position.

With this commitment, it would definitely seem that Juckem may be bumped from the radar. Unfortunately Juckem is prone to injuries as displayed through his high school career and even the recent Badger camp.

I think Wozniak is a solid get and I also don't find it alarming in the least in regards to our chances with Hageman. I could see this kid being a DE prospect as well, but even so....if you look at video, he has nice blocking ability and legit speed. I am pleased with this commit.

Wozniak will play for Badgers | Cincinnati Enquirer | Cincinnati.Com

Quote:
Loveland tight end Brian Wozniak has made an oral commitment to the University of Wisconsin football program.

As a junior at Loveland, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Wozniak was All-Fort Ancient Valley Conference/Buckeye in both football and basketball.

Wozniak said he had 14 football offers including Maryland, Cincinnati, Miami University, Akron, Connecticut and Louisville.

"I had good chemistry with the (Wisconsin) tight ends coach, Joe Rudolph," Wozniak said. "Ever since I went up there this spring on a visit, it's always been my favorite. It's the Big 10, the winning tradition, the atmosphere."
