Is 99% sure he will commit to Wisconsin, just wants to talk with his parents before making it official.

Film shows him primarily as a RB, but it appears UW will use him as a linebacker. He also seems to be an ok punter. Shows a decent burst off the line, and he definitely can leap. Looked tough, and finished his runs well. I wouldn't say he has that extra gear to pull away, but as a linebacker that is not always necessary. Definitely will be an athletic LB, but will still probably need to add weight to play the position. This is all my take (I'm far from a professional scout), but he seems like a solid prospect. Hopefully wadc will be able to add a little more on him. Personally I thought the staff might go with Klein in this spot, but only time will tell (Word is that we are taking two LB's)

His entire film showcases him on offense. I can't really much of an independent opinion as a result, other than he doesn't look like he has the frame to be a linebacker, his first step is pretty good, good agility, but he really isn't fast for a major college prospect of his size. I'm not declaring him a legacy offer, but it does conjure up thoughts (maybe irrational ones) of Zach Davison.

I asked if anybody has any opinion on him at BP, so hopefully I'll have a first-hand report to copy here.

Unreal. I don't know if he'll have the adequate size to play the linebacker position, but he certainly has the instincts. He had to anticipate who the ball was going to be handed off to ahead of time in order to execute that jump. Then the execution was phenomenal. He could be an outstanding mostly in the box safety who's athletic enough to cover tight ends or help out against the pass 25 yards away from scrimmage and closer. Kind of like a Stellmacher or what Bobby Sanders is to the Colts.

If he's 6' and 213 now, I don't see size being a problem at LB a few years down the road.

There's more to having the frame to put on weight than height. He doesn't have very broad shoulders or long arms. I'm also skeptical about the 213 weight listing, what did they measure with full pads and a helmet? No way that guy is 213. He's almost as lean as Mike Taylor, who looked more like 6'3", was longer, but was only listed as a 200 pounder. That's not to disrespect Borland's football skill, it appears he has great instincts and good athleticism. All I'm saying is future SS.

Borland ran for 148 yards and 3 TD's in Alter's domination of Carroll
