From the South Carolina site. Higgs says he likes South Carolina the most right now because he knows his style of play fits the team. He also talks about being family friends with current Gamecock Nichols. Louisville is another program that has his attention.

LB Antwon Higgs (6-2 240) of Pompano Beach, FL says that USC tops his list. Last season, Higgs had 120 tackles and 6 sacks. He says the Gamecocks were the first to offer him. "I like the fact that they play big linebackers. Other schools are talking about me moving to the defensive end but I want to play at the linebacker position." Coach Robert Gillespie is his recruiter and Higgs says that Gillespie has confirmed they want him at LB. "They were the first to offer me and have stayed with me. They're my favorite right now but I am keeping my options open. " Higgs runs a 4.8 40, but says he expects that to improve. "My game speed is much quicker. Most definately I am faster sideline to sideline." He says he sports a 3.6 G.P.A. and plans to graduate in December. Higgs hopes to visit USC for the LSU game. His offers include Florida, Miami, Florida State, NC State, West Virginia, and Purdue.

USC Maintaining Lead For Higgs
By Phil Kornblut
LB Antwon Higgs (6-2 240) of Pompano Beach, FL continues to favor USC and will set an official visit with the Gamecocks. "There's a lot of stuff there that I like," Higgs said. "My close friend is (DL) Donte' Nicholls. Their linebackers are 270-275 pounds and I'm going to get bigger. I know they play guys who are 275 pounds at linebacker." Higgs said he talks regularly with USC recruiter Robert Gillespie. He also plans to set an official visit with West Virginia, and he plans to attend the Miami-Florida game this season. Higgs has 14 other offers including Louisville, Purdue, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Kansas State. "I'm open to the other schools, too," he said.
