Maybe, but for selfish reasons I wished he'd redshirt and reclassify, so he could bolster our receiving corps in 2011 after the plethora of juniors graduated.
It's really sad that things didn't work out for Jones at Wisconsin. Jones' dream was to follow in the footsteps of Chris Chambers w/ the Badgers, and as a result we would have been his top choice even had the Buckeyes come a calling. He made a very early commitment to Bucky in 2005 and then the two sides were very loyal until he was able to finally qualify in 2007. On special teams he was a factor because of his speed and toughness, but never really got much of a shot at wide receiver, and like you said was dealt a bad break because of the serious knee injury.
I'll really be rooting for him at WKU. If he can become a standout there it'd be a great story of perseverance.
Now wide receiver is absolutely a position that MUST be addressed 1 or 2 more times this cycle.
Also, after all the attrition, it's looking like 2010 is going to be a very big class. Swelled to 19 scholarships available this cycle already, and considering we're down to 77 (from my count) true scholarship players after only over-signing by one, they're surely going to over-sign by the maximum this time around. I said 22, but after all this early attrition, the number could be closer to 25. I mean taking a recruit like Harrison, and the immense amount of offers we have circulating, are the actions of a head coach who believes it will be a sizable class.
