His twin brother, DB Demetruce McNeal (6-1 195) of College Park, GA also has offer from USC and Auburn. He is also receiving interest from North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Vanderbilt among other schools. He says that the brothers talk about going to school together but also talk about playing against each other. "Sometimes we talk about what it would be like to play against each other," he said. "It would be fun to argue about who has the best team and all." He said if they did that they would likely both stay in the same league. "We like the SEC a lot," said McNeal. McNeal had 84 tackles, seven sacks, and an interception in nine games last year before getting hurt. "I feel like I let my team down and think we could've gone deeper in the playoffs if I had stayed healthy. That's something I want to work on...staying healthy," he said. McNeal did name a top five. He says he likes USC, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, and Oregon.
