He talked about the event, "They were my first offer. They said they were pleased with my performance on the defensive side of the ball and that they like me as a free safety. I don't know much about South Carolina right now, but I want to learn more about their program and their school, the academic side of things."
Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Clemson and Vanderbilt are the other programs Carr is interested in and it appears the academics of those schools will be investigated, "I want to major in pre-med or engineering, so I am trying to look at a school that has a good pre-med program for me to study in."

He picked up his first scholarship offer last week from South Carolina. The 6-foot-1, 188-pounder also is hearing early from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Florida and Clemson.
This weekend he plans to head down to Tech's campus and check out the Yellow Jackets unofficially. Georgia Tech plays host to Florida State.

DB Daunte Carr (6-2 195) of Buford, GA is expected to be one of the top players in the Peach State this season. The big free safety had 73 tackles and three interceptions last season. He also had 12 tackles for loss and force four fumbles. He also plays receiver. Carr has been offered by USC, Stanford, South Florida and Central Florida, and he's drawing hard looks from Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Miami and Wake Forest. Carr attended Georgia Tech's junior day and plans to attend USC's and several others. "Everybody is on an even playing field," he said. "I want to tour the schools and see what it's like, the living environment, see if I'm comfortable with the coaches." Carr says he will graduate in December and he plans to make a college decision this summer.
