Jones picked up early offers from Stanford and Oregon and landed another Pac 10 offer recently from Arizona.

"I'm also hearing from UCLA, LSU, Georgia and USC," Jones said. "UCLA sounds like they could be close to offering as well and I'm open to every school who wants to recruit me."

Jones' older brother Marshall is a sophomore defensive back at USC and the obvious question for Malcolm is, does that make him a lock for USC if/when they throw an offer on the table?

"Not at all, I'm open," Jones said. "USC is in the mix but if I had to name the schools I'm really high on right now, it would probably be Stanford, Georgia, Oregon, Florida and Texas.

"I plan to check out some schools in the summer on unofficial visits and then I want to take my official visits during the season. So I'm not close to making any kind of early decision. I want to go through the recruiting process and really take my time because this is a pretty important decision for me."

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian running back Malcolm Jones is one of the elite running backs nationally in the class of 2010 and he's seen here in the Lions' recent win over Santa Clara, where he scored three touchdowns and had seven tackles.

Irish offer Jones and Shaw - ESPN

"Notre Dame is definitely a school I'm interested in," Jones said. "That's a big offer and I think every player knows about the tradition and prestige at Notre Dame. They've been recruiting me for awhile, but it's great to get this offer and I plan to learn as much about them as I can."

Jones said he also received an offer from Cal to go along with previous offers from a host of schools including USC, UCLA, Stanford, Oregon, Oklahoma, Arizona and Colorado. Jones has had Stanford and UCLA leading for some time, but said he'll take his official visits in the fall and is still open to all the schools recruiting him.
