Offensive tackle Denton Simek, 6-5, 260, 4.86, of Prague (Okla.) High School, who was offered a scholarship by Arkansas at the beginning of the week, will be in attendance, as will Monticello safety Brishen Mathews, 6-1, 190, 4.56, who was offered a scholarship Thursday. It won't be a formal Junior Day, but don't be surprised if more than 50 prospects attend the spring game.
Simek also has scholarship offers from Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and Duke. It's assumed that Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will both offer soon.
"I plan on majoring in sports medicine," Simek said. "I want to go to a school on the rise or one already well known. Arkansas is always good, and it's a very solid program. They're a program on the up and up with great facilities and great coaches."
