USC after another Matthews
Offensive lineman Jake Matthews, an ESPNU 150 Watch List prospect, was recently offered by the Trojans, affiliate Web site WeAreSC.com reports. Jake is the son of NFL Hall of Fame lineman and former Trojan Bruce Matthews. His older brother Kevin is the starting center for Texas A&M.

Arkansas, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Texas Tech and the Aggies have also offered Matthews, who lists USC, A&M, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Texas as his favorites.

He said, "Right now I guess my top schools are USC, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and maybe Texas. I can't really rank them at this point in time because I haven't had a chance to really check any of them out thoroughly. I'm planning on visiting these schools and maybe a few others during the summer or end of this school year."

From the A&M site. Matthews' coach says that Texas has offered, and that Jake was very excited about it. He will visit Texas in two weeks, and his coach doesnt rule out the possibility of his giving a verbal shortly after.

Jake Matthews - College Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN

Quote:
Offensive lineman Jake Matthews (Missouri City, Texas/Elkins) spoke with ESPN affiliate Web site WeAreSC.com about the current status of his recruitment.

"Definitely USC and A&M are the top two schools I'm looking at. I was thinking about committing to A&M if I didn't like USC that much (before a visit). When I look into it, I can't really say who would be my top school right now."

"I'd like to get it (my decision) over with before the end of the summer. I don't know really how it going to go, I could decide in the middle of my senior year. I'll just get the feeling and that's when I'll know I want to commit."
