LB Robert Nelson (6-0 205) of Stone Mountan, GA attended USC's camp Friday, and the Gamecocks sit in a very good shape with him. "They sent me on a tour of the campus and I fell in love with the campus," Nelson said. "Everything looked really clean. I got a feel for the coaches and I liked them a lot. I've always been told that coming out of a Steve Spurrier program is one of the best things a young man can do in his life." Nelson said USC his current favorite with Auburn second on his list and Tennessee third. He attended an Auburn camp earlier in the summer. He also has offers from West Virginia, Troy and Louisiana Tech and is also getting interest from Purdue, Indiana, Ohio, Florida and Memphis. Nelson had a huge senior season setting a Georgia single season record with 176 tackles from his middle linebacker spot. "I believe I was born to play linebacker," Nelson said. "Tackling is my specialty. I know how not to run the long way to the ball."
